CENTRAL SD

Petco Park: The Padres are taking on the Los Angeles Dodgers, and fireworks will follow the evening game.

San Diego Bay: Relish the San Diego night sky lit up by the Big Kahuna of fireworks displays on the Hornblower Cruise boat’s Sky Deck, 30 feet off the water, reports SDNN.com. You will be sure to enjoy your 4th of July night’s celebrations in style at $125 a ticket for adults and $75 for children 4-12. Boarding time is 6:30 p.m. precisely, and the display starts at 9 p.m.

If you would like to see the fireworks show free of charge, watch off from Shelter Island, Harbor Island, the Embarcadero or Seaport Village.

Coronado: On Orange Avenue at Glorietta Bay, there will be daylong Independence Day festivities, beginning with a 15K or 5K run and ending with a free fireworks display, according to the Reader. Aside from this, you can expect to have enough activities to fill your entire 4th of July calendar, including the 61st Annual Independence Day Parade, a concert in the park at Spreckels Park and a U.S. Navy SEAL demo.

Del Mar: The fair will be livelier than usual on the Fourth, due to the fireworks display at 9 p.m. and  performances by the Navy Band Southwest, which performs at 7:30 p.m., and KC and the Sunshine Band, who will entertain guests after the “boom, pow, pop!” Keep in mind that admission ($6 to $12) still applies if you’d like to watch the shows. and parking is $9.

La Jolla Cove: A dozen of La Jolla residents banned together to save the fireworks in La Jolla. The owner of George’s at the Cove restaurant, George Hauer, has funded the festivities for the last 24 years out of his own pocket, but this year he couldn’t do it. Thanks to the group of residents, the show can go on!

The fireworks are also visible from Scripps Park and La Jolla Shores. The show starts at 9 p.m.

Lake Murray: A family oriented day in the park is how Lake Murray is celebrating Independence Day at the Lake Murray Community Park with fireworks and a music festival. The event features live bands, such as Pullman Standard, Surf City All Stars and Rockola, who will be providing entertainment throughout the afternoon and evening before the grand fireworks start about 9:15 p.m.

Mira Mesa: Show your American pride at the Mira Mesa Gil Johnson Recreation Center’s Proud to Be an American-themed Independence Day. It’s the place to be for a patriotic day filled with food, fun and fireworks. The parade will begin at 11:30 a.m., and the fireworks display will get started at 9 p.m. at Mira Mesa Boulevard and Greenford Road.

Mission Bay Yacht Club: Come watch boats parade around beautiful San Diego Bay before the fireworks display begins at 9 p.m. Don’t miss the Blue Rocket Band playing from 4-7 p.m., with the Lisa Campbell Band to follow.

Ocean Beach Pier: The OB Pier hosts its 30th annual fireworks celebration that will be sure to light up O.B.’s skies on July 4. The pyromania event begins at 9 p.m.

SeaWorld: Although SeaWorld hosts beautiful fireworks displays almost every night, there’s something special about an Independence Day bash. The time to see the sights is 9:30 p.m., and admission is required.

EAST COUNTY

El Cajon: A picnic at Kennedy Park (1675 East Madison Avenue) kicks off at noon, with fireworks to follow at 9 p.m.

Julian: Off the state Routes 78 and 79 in the quaint town that is famous for its luscious apples, the American flag and community’s 4th of July Parade will overtake the city of Julian this 4th of July. Unfortunately, there will be no display.

Santee: Come celebrate America at Santee Salutes, with fireworks taking place at 9 p.m. The festivities are centered at the Town Center Community Park ball fields.

Spring Valley: At 9 p.m., fireworks will be launched from the Swap Meet parking lot; however the Spring Valley Park is the best spot to watch the display.

NORTH COUNTY

Camp Pendleton: Military members and their guests can celebrate this 4th of July in paradise at the Del Mar beach with a fireworks display beginning at 9 p.m. with entertaining activities all day long, including food, games and live bands beginning at 12 p.m.

Carlsbad/Legoland: What more entertaining way to watch the firework fun than at Legoland’s “Red, White and Boom Celebration”? Regular admission applies for guests ($49.95-$59.95) and includes one of the largest fireworks demonstrations in North County, family picnic games and entertainment such as The Jumpitz, one of the hottest emerging children’s entertainment groups in the nation. Or enjoy the display from the comfort of your own car in the Legoland parking lot for only $2. The display is starting at 8:30 p.m.

Escondido: The California Center for the Arts is bringing Escondido residents bands, fireworks (9 p.m.) and other festivities at Grape Day Park from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Free admission!

Fallbrook: From 4-9 p.m., gather at the Grand Tradition to enjoy a concert and magnificent fireworks show. Admission is $25 for adults and $10 for children.

Oceanside: No fireworks display.

Poway: Show your American and school spirit at Poway High School. Admission is $2 for those older than 11 years old. The little ones under 11 are free. Preceding the 9 p.m. fireworks display is a carnival-style Fourth of July celebration in Old Poway Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Ramona: Olive Pierce Middle School will host the fireworks and festivities this year starting — pyrotechnics start at 9 p.m., but feel free to arrive early because the grounds open at 5 p.m. for a town picnic that includes food booths and games.

Rancho Bernardo: The daylong patriotic activities will take place at Webb Park and throughout Rancho Bernardo from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Independence Day Parade will last from 3:30-5 p.m., and the Tom and Shondra concert will follow, with the fireworks celebrations topping off the night from 9-9:30 p.m.

San Marcos: William R. Bradley Park, located at the intersection of Linda Vista Drive and Ranch Santa Fe Road, is the host of San Marcos’ 4th of July celebrations. Enjoy an old-fashioned family-and-friends picnic and watch the fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Entertainment will include a comedy magic show, live music, carnival games and a jump house, starting at 5 p.m.

Vista: Don’t miss the free shuttle (parking is $5) at Vista High School taking you to the 4th of July Jubilee in Brengle Terrace Park. Also, make sure to get there before 9 p.m. in time to see the fireworks display.
