    So the majority of girls I talk to tell me when it comes to working out, they don’t like using weights because it “bulks them up”. Ladies this is one big fat myth. Here is why.

    If you do weight training in a very specific way, you obviously can get super buff, however, weights can be used to tone up already existing muscle which ultimately helps you slim down. If you’re looking to pump up, you would lift heavier weights with fewer repetitions. If you’re wanting to tone, you will want to find a weight where you can comfortably lift it 12-15 times (reps) and do those 12-15 reps at 3 different times (sets), with a resting period of about 60 seconds in between.

    Muscle makes up a large amount of mass in your body and when you work that large mass, it continues to work for you. This is why a lot of people choose to work out in the morning, as they can reap the benefits of a boosted metabolism throughout the rest of the day. You may burn more calories during a cardio workout, but lifting weights will increase your muscle mass and muscle mass burns more calories than other mass. Complicated but makes sense if you think about it. So today’s Move it Monday is Weight Lifting!

    PS-I have been lifting more weights as of last week, and already can tell a huge difference! I was focusing TOO much on cardio and not enough on weights!

    Guys with shaved legs are so confusing to me. Why are your legs shaved? Unless you are an athlete, and are having your ankles taped daily, you shouldn’t be shaving your legs period.  Tonight at the gym I saw this guy with smoother legs than me. Shiny and glowy. I guess I just hate when guys shave visible body parts all together. You are a guy not a girl. Please stop shaving, your silky smooth legs are gross.

    Guys that grunt when they lift weights

    People that weigh 400 lbs doing the outer thigh machine? Probably should focus on cardio and weights first ya? Those machines are pointless as is.

    Scary staring/creepy/molester eyes, I always catch one peeping Tom per visit

    Why the vacuum guy always has to vacuum where I am standing… seriously always?!!!

    Why girls workout with their boobs out or with hoop earrings on? I saw a girls entire boob tonight and

    How girls with size HH boobs even run on the treadmill? It looked so painful I felt so bad for her :( Big boobed girls, I feel your pain!

    I think that was all that confused me tonight :) I have been kind of moody lately, I will try to control it in my future posts.
