What to Wear To email: “My 21st birthday is coming up soon and I need help finding the perfect outfit! I’m the type of girl who has all the best dressed friends who look way cuter on a night out, even when you’re already thinking that you look your best. So as you may see I want to find the cutest outfit so I can stand out with my friends, to make sure I’m not get pushed to the side with my “blandness”. Any ideas?”

First of all no one has to be bland, blandness is a choice ;) Luckily I’m here to solve the blandness blues. Hmmm so how to stand out on your 21st birthday, without draping yourself in ugly boa’s and crowns? Here are my suggestions:

    1. Make up: Schedule a make up appointment if you can’t do your own. MAC counters will do your make up for free if you buy a few products. Go stock up on some dazzleglass‘ and have a MAC girl help you out with your make up! A good way to stand out through make up is a smokey eye or a bright lip look! Fake lashes are a b-day must as well!

    2. Hair: Freshly done hair. Make sure your roots are done and again if you need help styling your hair, contact a local salon to have them curl/do your hair for you. No up do’s please. Big, voluminous hair or a cute curly side pony tail is always cute too!

    3. Tan: Schedule yourself a spray tan! Everyone looks better tan and well since I barely tan in the sun, I use Million Dollar Tan. They offer sunless airbrush tanning throughout Southern California, email me for locations, or you can purchase their sunless tanning lotion for a similar tan! Any other spray tan will work if you don’t have MDT access. The key here is bronzed skin and no tan lines.

    4. Nails: Paint your nails a super cute color that stands out! Hot pink!? It’s Summer, have fun with a bright manicure/pedicure. Or play it safe with french.

    5. Outfit: I would go for a short, flirty, fun dress. Again something bright or with a pattern so you stand out, show some skin but nothing sloppy or skanky. It’s your birthday sure, but you don’t want to look desperate for attention. Get it the right way! Here are a few birthday dresses I found that I love!

I have always lovedddd bob hair cuts, and while peaking around at some Olsen twin pics (to take a Kim K. breather…) I came across the cutest pics of Mary Kate and Ashley’s blonde bobs. Such a cute Summer hair cut and it looks great curly, wavy and straight.

The mid-length bob has become a Hollywood favorite for many celebrities. To achieve this look, have your stylist cut your hair to the shoulders, angling the layers (with the shortest layers in back). Then, have her cut a bang that hits a little below the brow line. Finish off by applying a smoothing balm and using a flat iron to make the bob straight as a pin, or use a curling iron for the wavy/curly look!

Thanks to Lindsay I discovered a new curling iron that every girl must have! It heats up so hot that there really is no way your curls can fall out if curled properly. I used hers this weekend, and even after sleeping my hair is still curly! She has the 1 inch iron in pink and we both love it! Any girl who loves curly hair needs this iron. I found it for sale at Sally’s Online Site for $34.99. Safe, cheap way to buy. Also makes a great gift for any girly girl :)

To achieve curls like ours below, we used the 1 inch iron.

I think one of the hugest steps girls skip when doing their hair is using the proper products to achieve the look they’re wanting. For me I never want frizzy, messy hair, so one critical l ingredient to polished, perfect hair is hair serum. Biosilk is a similar product, but I just discovered my new favorite serum by Got2B. I am not gonna lie, the packaging is what won my heart :) You can buy it at any drug store, Target, CVS, Longs etc…

You can apply it before you blow dry or after. I use it mostly after I curl my hair, for the ends. Keeps curls from becoming nappy :)

    Product Benefits:

    • Non-sticky formula
    • Contains a UV protectant
    • Works with all hair types, but is especially suites for thicker unmanageable hair and wavy, curly styles.

I wear my hair curly often, so I need it staying nice and curly and in place… I have a technique I use that works best for me, where I curl my entire head first with NO HAIRSPRAY used, none. I curl and set the curl down, and don’t touch it until the very last step. Once I curl my entire head, I then take Bio Silk (Or something similar) and run it through my curls with my fingers gently, to smooth the curls out. THEN I will follow up with this product by Garnier. I only use a little bit though, too much makes it look too gel’d. 1-2 sprays only. I then finish off with some hair spray :)

So every time I am out someone asks me how I do my hair. I don’t think I’m cool I just really want to help girls learn how to do it themselves! Everyone sees the celebs with long flowy, perfectly curled hair and you can get it too, but it does require a few crazy steps. If you’re not used to spending time getting ready this might be a chore for you but you will love the results.
