Is this a joke? Seriously? Am I missing something here?

ESPN reported that the manager of a well known strip club here in San Diego called “Pure Platinum” called XX1090 radio the other afternoon to tell the host John Cantera that at least eight Chargers were at his strip club drinking into the early hours of the morning, less that 36 hours before the game with the Jets on Sunday. Ummmm WHAT!?

The Chargers are a complete mess. Lets see in the past year I have seen them out almost every weekend dumping champagne on eachother, drunk driving, nailing trash like Tila Tequila, throwing bottles at Barwest, I mean can anyone really wonder why we’re not Super Bowl champs? As much as I love my team, their behavior is more like jaded rap stars than devoted athletes.

Kassim Osgood was on Radio 1090 today, and said “it is a big deal if they went out on Friday night and I will be pissed if that story is true because of how much my teammates and I have sacrificed this year.” For all you people who say they can do what they want? Sure they can, but when they do whatever the hell they want, they’re disrespecting EVERYONE that supports them. Fans, coaches, teammates…

I can not believe someone suggested the idea they hit up a trashy strip club before such a HUGE game, and SEVEN others confirmed it was an amazing idea? Dear Chargers, grow up. If you want to pop bottles, chase stripper tail 24/7, dump booze on one another, drunk drive, date celebrities, then maybe you should move to LA and start rapping. I don’t really know how or when being an athlete took on a new meaning, but the Chargers need to focus on who they are and what their roles are. You are NOT Pdiddy.

Strip club San Diego Chargers Partying before JETS game

Continue for more details from this night and a few others.

And they wonder why they lose playoff games? Do you think the Patriots, Colts, Steelers or Jets were out as much as the Chargers were this season? I don’t. That is why they win playoff games and we don’t. Teams that have real passion, real drive and real dedication to the game would never behave this way. I don’t know how these boys are allowed such a long leashes but Spanos needs to clean up shop, this is embarrassing.

And to the Chargers, if you end up stumbling apon my silly article, put yourself in our shoes. San Diego is sick of wasting our time, money, energy and emotions on a team that doesn’t even want to win. Not even trying to be a hater, but people spend their entire paychecks to support you guys season after season, and this is what we get back? People tattoo their bodies with your names, their entire lives are spent following you and admiring you.

I feel awful for the teammates that put their heart and soul into this game and have to deal with these jaded, dont give a F guys. Hey guys, can’t you maybe just have fun on the off season? Shoot even I stay in on week nights and I make 1/8,313,234th of what you make. It’s called being responsible. After all, didn’t you pick this career?

I am not a band wagon fan turning my back on you, more so a disappointed fan who knows with 100% dedication from all you guys, we coulda walked away with rings. I now have crossed over to the other side, the side that knows the Chargers still don’t have the heart to be champions.

UPDATED EMAIL from a friend…

So I thought it hilarious that my Colt-loving Las Vegas based co-worker was flying out to SD on Sunday 1/10 and you know who “party harty” was on his flight…Merriman!!! This scuz ball was at the AVN awards the night before RAGING with porn stars and strippers. So my co-worker who is based out of Vegas and is a die hard Colts fan, was absolutely beside himself cracking up that our “star” Defensive LB was raging with skanks in Vegas at the porn awards a few days before the biggest game ever, which they were supposed to win to go on to play his beloved Colts. Unfortunately our lame ass pussy chasing Chargers are such die hard partiers and not athletes that they didn’t even make it past the JETS! Thought you‘d find this very interesting considering the “boys” were at Pure Platinum the day before the game??? WTF???

Here is Merriman at the airport 6 days before the biggest game of his season. What a dedicated playa ;)

WE EXPECT THEM TO WIN SUPERBOWLS! THAT IS IT!

NONE of these douche-club crawling guys combined equal the worth, income, value, etc of Tiger. Look at his dumb ass mistakes & the repercussions it has had…the Chargers defense isn’t nearly anything CLOSE to the legacy & value of Woods. Nice thing about sports…there’s always someone behind you who is hungrier, younger, more fit & committed.

for serious, they’re professional athletes. there are WAY classier strip clubs than pure platinum. ahahahhah ok kidding. but i love your anger and cut-the-bullshit attitude. i know you’re a true bolts fan.

that is crazy! i have someone on my facebook who’s status said earlier in the season..something like, “I’m at whatever place, and i can’t believe it there are 8 Chargers here and they have a game in less then 48 hrs.” that is such BS to their fans, and people that pay money to watch them play. when they don’t get their contracts renewed, that’s their own fault!

It was Friday night, it’s not like these guys don’t do this all the time. The only reason people care is because the team played so poorly. It’s not like Rivers and Kaeding were there.

No reason to stir this up now, if their was a problem people should have been talking about it before the game.

i still it up now because it will change the way i support them next year. they dont take playoffs serious, why would i? who cares what day it was, god forbid they stay home the 48 hours before the biggest game of the season. no one will ever convince me what they did was ok.

you know what the defense played like shit….sure the kicker missed shit he usually wouldnt but if the charge defense didnt suck balls that day they’d be in it at least til the next game….sad that all we got in LA is the chargers for Football…i remember being in school at UCSD and seeing those clowns always half practicing at rimac….then driving their F150 Lightings around all wasted trying to pick up 18 year olds….

Yet another example of a Marty Schottenheimer team and a laid back Norv Turner team! Oh that’s right, having a coach that I can have under my thumb is more important than a coach who has command of his team (the flawed logic of AJ Smith).

I think this is probably overplayed a bit. Were it the night before a game (i.e. Saturday night into Sunday morning), then there would likely be a better target for your criticisms. But as it is, Saturdays are nothing for the NFL anyway; light walk through at the stadium, maybe some late afternoon film work and then to bed early before the game. To the best of my knowledge, none of the players you mentioned or allude to were out on Saturday night.

Moreover, the defense actually played pretty well in the game as it was. In fact, the Chargers defense played well enough to win had everybody’s Golden Boy, Philip Rivers, not let the ‘Bolts down with some terrible decision-making in the second half. Now, if Rivers was one of the cats at Pure Platinum (doubtful), then you might have a point. As it was though, the Chargers defense, led by superstar party boy Shawne Merriman, held the #1 rushing offense in the NFL to 3 points until Rivers threw an INT inside San Diego’s own 20. At that point in time the game slipped away from them.

The Chargers lost as they always do in the end because they always find a way to lose. Last year it was to the eventual Super Bowl champion. This time it came on the foot of a kicker who had been on the most accurate in football over the past few years. Sometimes the football gods just don’t have it in the cards for you, and with LT moving on and no one ready as a full-time back to replace him, it may be a long time and many bottles popped before they do.

Rory speaks some truth there. I’d like to add, a gentlemen’s club can be viewed as a great form of relaxation to calm the body and mind. Obviously i wasn’t there, but who knows what was in their drinks. Could have been water, or Verve energy drink

i dont care what day it was, it was a playoff weekend are you kidding me? stay the F home! not changing my mind and anyone who supports their choice isnt serious about the sport ;P. the guys clearly lack the strict dedication needed to win superbowls. if this was any other day or game i wouldnt say a word, considering ive seen them out chugging grey goose almost EVERY single weekend of the season. this was the superbowl. if you cant step up for one week and focus youre a mess and dont want it bad enough. someone else always wants it more than the san diego chargers, can you really disagree with me?
