So I am on day 3 of my 5 day liquid only cleanse and I am somehow ok!? Yesterday was rough but not as bad as I thought it would be. For someone who lovessss food, no really, LOVE… the most challenging part is mentally telling myself “You’re notttt hungry” and resisting all the snacks around me. You feel hungry on the liquid diet, however the mixture they give you fills you up enough. I do always feel hungry, but never starved. Definitely sucks always wanting to eat but I’m sticking to it! This isn’t something you should try if you cant stick to it, because after doing it for a day or two you’ll want to quit.

After 3 days of lighter eating, and 3 days of the actual “liquid” cleanse, I already notice results. Obviously not eating will make anyone appear slimmer, but it mostly feels good knowing I’m cleaning out my entire body for a fresh start. It overall makes you want to eat better and just become a healthier person. I was a bit more tired yesterday, but after the first 48 hours you become super energized and way less hungry. I’m not gonna lie and say it’s easy but I do recommend everyone does try one once in their life and if I can do it, anyone can. I will also confess that I have been snacking on almonds. I think it actually helps to eat a tiny bit otherwise I feel like the mix has nothing to stick to inside. If you do eat, only eat natural, organic things and tiny tiny bits.

The actual shakes themselves aren’t fun to drink and right now I have to drink 5 a day. 1 every 3 hours. You mix the packet with apple juice so it tastes better. You can drink all the organic juice you want while on the diet, or even have veggie soup, the broth helps because it’s warm and at least feels like you’re eating something. So far so good, counting down the days until it’s over but in the meantime, enjoying the results :)

Another life lost to drugs or so that seems to be what insiders are saying.  The world was shocked yet again today when learning actress Brittany Murphy had passed away. The reason? Cardiac arrest aka possible drug use. Perez Hilton actually predicted Brittany Murphy’s death to a local radio DJ here in San Diego while talking about Michael Jackson’s death being the biggest story of the year 2009. Radio host AJ Machado asks Perez Hilton if there is a celebrity that he thinks is heading in the same path as Michael Jackson… his reply?

    Brittany Murphy.

Murphy has been accused of having an eating disorder earlier in her career which some believed was tied to a cocaine habit. The Los Angeles City Fire Department confirmed that a 911 call was made at 8 a.m. from Murphy’s West Hollywood home, according to several reports. Murphy’s mom found her unconscious in the shower. She was pronounced dead upon arrival at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. What is weird about the whole thing is her husband does not want an autopsy performed. Interesting.

It really is crazy how scary drugs are and how people fail to realize the damage they posses, I have no desire to even experiment with them. Hello, there is a reason they’re illegal, because they take over your entire being without you even knowing it or wanting them to. Maybe you’re one of the few who can handle doing drugs on occasion, but maybe you’re the person they will control forever, ultimately leaving you dead in your shower? For me it’s just not worth the risk.

I guess it is hard realizing something of this nature while struggling with an addiction. Anyway…we all know how I feel about drugs so I’ll wrap this one up…

Today’s sappy Sunday? The obvious… take someone else’s mistake and learn from it.

“It’s said that a fool learns from their own mistakes, a wise man from the mistakes of others.”

Take a second not only to appreciate what you have but to realize how fast life can be taken from you. If you are fighting with someone, headed down a path you might not want to be headed, involved with a bad crowd, know someone struggling with addiction… you have the ability to change it all or at least give it your best try to while you still can. A second chance is never promised.

Also think about all the drama she endured with that husband of hers, all the petty fights… looking back, they were all so tiny in the overall perspective, pick and choose your battles. I see so many people wasting time fighting over the stupidest stuff. Even that NFL player who just died fighting with his fiance over wedding costs. She has to live with that guilt for the rest of her life. Love & forgive everyone, there is just absolutely no reason not to. One day we will all be gone, lets make the best of our time here together :)

This week was really a crazy one. I had so many things go wrong but after complaining about it for so many days I realized things could have been 52 times worse. It seems even though bad things happened to me all week, someone was still looking out for me because I walked away safe. I had two situations that could have definitely ended with me seriously injured if they had gone just a bit different. It is wild to know that life is a constant test, after the initial shock of bad events I try my best to sit myself down and review the message. What is being taught to me? What can I learn from this? Almost always you will extract a positive from the negative.

We must also always remember that there is tons of good happening to us as well, don’t forget how good you have it the majority of the time! Like everyone says, sometimes you gotta make it through the rain to appreciate the sun. If you are going through a similar situation, really try to see the good in the bad, I promise it’s there.

So, even though this week was crappy, I learned my family & friends will come to the rescue and it was nice to know that no matter what happens I have that support. I am lucky to have it :)

Thanks to everyone who helped me out this week I LOVE my Fam & Friends so much! Was a great weekend!

This Sappy Sunday really isn’t Sappy at all, instead it is about having fun! Lately I have been all over the place but I wouldn’t have it any other way. So many times I have cool opportunities that I invite my friends to, and almost always they say no! I don’t understand it? I always say YES!

I know people have priorities and other things going on, but I personally want to experience as many cool things as I can. I love spontaneity and randomness. Your goal for this week? Do something you normally wouldn’t and have a blast doing it :) Hang out with someone you might not usually hang out with, try out new things or places, step out of your comfort zone… Sleep in, eat dessert, put off a bit of work for a day, it’s ok! (Don’t do these things every day of course ;) but once and a while it is ok to break the rules!) Enjoy the present and don’t worry about the future, forget tomorrow’s test, carpe diem!

“Live life fully while you’re here. Experience everything. Take care of yourself and your friends. Have fun, be crazy, be weird. Go out and screw up! You’re going to anyway, so you might as well enjoy the process. Take the opportunity to learn from your mistakes: find the cause of your problem and eliminate it. Don’t try to be perfect; just be an excellent example of being human.”

“If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun.”

“As you grow older, you’ll find the only things you regret are the things you didn’t do.”

“You live longer once you realize that any time spent being unhappy is wasted.”

“Most of us spend our lives as if we had another one in the bank.”

“When your life flashes before your eyes, make sure you’ve got plenty to watch.”

So far so good, I have plenty to watch, and can’t wait to add more… do you? :) carpediem

It really is true, in life, you get what you give, but sometimes I think people fail to realize their own worth. More and more people I see are settling for jobs, boyfriends/girlfriends, friends etc… below their worth. But until you recognize what you deserve from life you probably won’t get much more… today’s Sappy Sunday quote:

“Life gives you exactly what you tell it you’re worth.”

Simple as that. Unless you are asking for more, working for more, wanting more, you’ll probably end up with less. Most people get too comfortable/lazy with what they have currently and accept it out of fear of failure or rejection. Think about the things in your life, the people, that boyfriend, that job… if you know you’re settling, take a risk, ask for more, show people your worth and how bad you want it and most likely you will receive it, or be one step closer to it at least :)

If I ever needed a move it Monday motivation it would have to be NOW. My birthday is coming up and I need to be bikini bound for Las Vegas asap! I have been super over working out this week, I really am going to have to dig deeeeeep down inside of myself and yank out the workout freak that I know lies somewhere inside of me.

A lot of my friends have over the years became raw foodist’s, which is a lifestyle promoting the consumption of un-cooked, un-processed, and often organic foods as a large percentage of the diet. They also typically believe that the greater the percentage of raw food in the diet, the greater the health benefits. Not only do you get more nutrients from the food you are eating, you lose tons of weight! I personally could never become a total raw foodist but maybe if I just up my dose of raw fruits and veggies I will eat healthier and maybe be less puffy ;)

My goal this week is to eat cleaner, more veggies, fruits, nuts, eggs, salads, water etc… especially before bed! That combined with the gym 5 days a week I think I will be ok :) Let’s see how well I can stick with it!

This week my lesson was realizing that it is ok to let some people in your life go. I always struggle to walk away from people I am close to, but I finally have come to realize that life can be much better if you eliminate the people who constantly bring you down.

“All things that aren’t meant to be come undone, let them go, let them run. Keep steady & you’ll see love stays when you set it free.”

I thought this was an interesting way to look at failed relationships. Whether it be friendships or romances, if things are falling apart, they most likely are not meant to be. Instead of trying to understand why they fell apart, or trying to hold on over and over, people need to be more willing to simply let it go. Sometimes it is easier to just drop it. If it comes back to you then you know it was meant to be. So the Sappy Sunday lesson today is to recognize those people you must let go and just let them go :)
