I guess Cassie & Diddy are still an item because over the weekend she attended the CULO by Mazzucco Book and Art Exhibition Launch hosted by her man Diddy, and boy is she looking fabbb in her coral blazer. I thought this look could perhaps prompt some future outfit inspirations…

To re-create this look, try pairing a coral blazer with a similar lacy/mesh top, satin dress pants & some pointed-toe pumps! Polish off the look with a chunky chain necklace, a gold boyfriend watch and some of Cassie’s infamous gold hoop earrings.

To be honest, I’m not sure how this would look on someone other than Cassie, her bronzed, glowing skin, hair style and natural beauty let her get away with funky fashions most could not pull off. But hey, I’m down to try it out :)

Would you try out this look?

The Seasons have changed which for us girls means fun new hair styles to play around with!  I never follow strict trend rules as you know, but it is fun to see what trends are popular with each new Season, and then to choose the ones I like. Good news is, almost all the Fall 2011 hair trends are super cute, fun & easy to re-create with your own personal touch. So here we go…

    Hottest 2011 Fall Hair Trends

    1. Braids

There is nothing more practical, romantic and easy-to-do than your classic braid. This year, many fashion designers have used various kinds of braids in their fashion shows, so it’s safe to say braids will be big this Fall/Winter. There are so many styles to play around with, get creative! Ribbons, bows, headbands, clips… Simple braids, twin braids, milkmaid braids, loose braids, side braids and side-swept braided hairstyles will all be big this Fall/Winter 2011-2012.

    2. Bangs

Bangs are always in style because I have them of course ;) but this Fall/Winter 2011-2012 they are making a strong comeback. If you have been thinking about bangs, Winter months are the best time for them as they don’t sweat to your forehead like they do in Summer.

    3. Center & Deep Side Parts

I definitely have to be in the mood for a center part so if you’re anything like me, now is the time to test this trend out. I am always a bit skeptical about how it looks on some faces but what better time to try it than when it’s in style? Another hot part to try out is a personal favorite, the deep side part.

    4. Messy low side buns

As seen on numerous Chanel models during Fashion Week, the low messy bun is back.

    5. Shaggy Short Cuts

I love love funky short haircuts. A few years back I chopped all my hair off into a similar cut. A lot of people said they liked it better? Perhaps a cut is in my Fall future? Doubt it, I love rollin on 22′s. How cute is she though? I love this cut and even the color. So very Fall.

“I call this haircut a ‘shab,’” says hairstylist Giannandrea, who created this look for the star. “It’s a cross between a bob and a shag.” The hair is cut above the shoulders, and then razored from back to front at a slight angle. “This is the kind of style that comes to life with the styling.”

    6. Punk Rock Crop

This hairstyle is so cute I wish I had the guts to try it? A short on the sides, long on the top punk rock crop cut.

Color wise, this Season you will see very natural hair colors. Chunky highlights are out, and solid, warmer hair colors are in. Think deep reds, rich browns and warm tones of blonde. Key word: Warm.

    Happy Hair-cutting/ coloring!

I’ve reallyyyy been loving red lately. Actually, I’ve always loved red, however it’s hard to find cute red items that are the perfect shade of red. Often times the red isn’t as bright and cute as it should be. Good news for fellow red lovers of the world though, because Bebe just came out with a handful of new red pieces, all in a super cute, very bright red! I bought a few cute red pieces, come Valentine’s Day I will be ready to go ;)

Yet another fabulous boot by Naughty Monkey, this one is called “Fearless”. For some reason I always end up with the taupe colored boots, probably because they go with so many different color combos. I really need a fabulous pair of navy boots though, so next up is most def. navy. Anyway, today I had lunch at La Valencia, one of my most favorite hotels in La Jolla, so I decided to take a few pictures of my new boots! I got this top at Foreign Exchange, it matched the boots perfectly. Since the shirt had small specks of black throughout it, I paired it with my favorite black Rock & Republic leggings and a taupe belt to tie it all together.

The key to wearing colored boots for me, is to tie in the same color somewhere else in the outfit, this belt did the trick. Sometimes you can get away without wearing the color in another place, but when taupe was layered over the black, I wanted to incorporate taupe again somewhere else to complete the look.

So, do you like these boots? You’ll have to let me know. I loveeee them of course, so here are my top 5 reasons why:

    1. They are cute. So cute! And their cuteness comes in FIVE colors! Black, grey, navy, taupe & chocolate.

    2. You can adjust the height. If you want them lower they fold lower, or you can pull them up to the height I have them at.

    3. They are soooo comfortable. With only a 3 3/4 heel you can stomp around town for days.

    4. They can be worn dressed up or down. Toss ‘em on with some denim or as you can see leggings, both look fab.

    5. These can be worn practically year round, especially here in So. Cal. A suede boot is a must for any fab female’s closet.

Want your own pair? Purchase these on either Nordstrom.comzappos.com or heels.com!

Fashion Week is a lot to take in… so many designers, so many of which I’ve never even heard of before, who display styles I wouldn’t be caught dead in, however… there are a lot of designers I love, that show off amazingggg styles, colors and trends that can actually be integrated into a normal girl’s closet. I love being able to take major runway trends and working them into my every day wardrobe.

NYC Fashion Week is officially over, and instead of boring you with all the high end, super model stuff we can never wear, I decided to post some of the fashions and designers that could possibly be worn by us normal girls. I also love knowing what fabrics, cuts, colors and trends will be hot in the upcoming season so I will outline those as well!

Wondering what will be hot this Spring 2012 in fashion? Let’s check it out…

Hot Spring 2012 Trends: Leather tops, color blocking, remixed shirt dresses, strapless wrap dresses, bold color, volume, asymmetry, crochet, feathers, metallic’s, fringe, cutouts, textural braiding, weaving, tailored jackets, daytime sequins, sporty, sheer dresses, boy shorts, fringe, mixed prints, stripes, paisley prints, tuxedo details, jumpsuits, leather, lace, florals, tribal, leopard print, lingerie-inspired & hooded vests.

Hot Spring 2012 Colors: Indigo, rust, citron coral, hot pink, lime green, neon orange, cobalt blue, red, mint green, bold yellow, black, green, turquoise, marigold, white, pale pink, champagne, silvers, metallic’s, purple, seafoam, grey, olive, blush, ruby red & navy.  So ya, pretty much the entire rainbow.

I love love the bright colors, the romantic blouses, the glitter and of course the leopard :)

What are you looking forward to most this Spring?

Look out Jeffry Campbell, Steve Madden (and everyone else) is swagga jackin you. Love, loveeeee these chunky leopard heels tho, fun & funky without being too chunky. I think Jeffry Campbell shoes are cute and all, but they’re a bittttt too much for me. In my opinion, they only look cute on girls with super skinny legs, my athletic legs in JC’s just look … blah.

Even these leopard heels make my legs look a little too thick since they cover up the skinniest part on me, my ankles, but oh well, I’ll still wear them :) So for all my skinny sisters, or buff babes that don’t care like me… enjoy this fabulous find.

Sorry to all my Summer lovin’ females, but Fall is rapidly approaching! I got an email last night asking me what colors will be BIG this fall, so if you’re also looking to slowly transition into some Fall hues, here are the colors that will be HOT this Fall!

Although bright colors remain in style, their brightness and saturation levels are what has changed. Goodbye neon and pastel, hello pigmented, deep, rich & saturated colors.

These colors work fabulous for everything Fall. Nails, bags, shoes, skirts, blazers, tops, pants, accessories… you get the point.

Loving these colors and want to stock up on them now? My favorite site Lulus.com just launched an entire section all about Marigold Orange. So if you’re lovin’ this color as much as I am, head on over to their site and check out all their cute Marigold dresses & other fun items!
