Looks like I’m really missing out on Intervention & Sidebar………. so many quality people all in one place! Hahaah wowwwwwwwwwww.

I’d rather eat pizza, read a book, sing a song, paint my nails, brush my hair, download Iphone apps, go for a run, hit the gym, polish my jewelry, clean my room, work overtime, sip a cocktail on my own balcony, wash my dog, bake a cake, plant flowers, build a sand castle, write a bratty blog, detail my car, do my laundry………..

Last night my girlfriend and I headed Downtown to check out a new Sushi Restaurant called Dragon’s Den on 10th Avenue. They haven’t had their Grand Opening yet, but it is open to the public as of now. Dragon’s Den is ran by the same Operating Partner and General Manager, Ronny Tompot, of Suite & Tender, JBar, and High Tide Café.

The place is pretty far down on 10th Ave., I believe it’s the very last building on the left hand side of 10th, right by Petco Park… Anyway, a group of her workout buddies were celebrating a birthday so I decided to tag along. Rumor was happy hour was from 5-8 so of course we showed up at 7:57pm ready to order like the cheapos we are. We rannn from the parking garage to make it with 3 minutes to spare, good work team, or so we thought… We plop down on a bar stool like heyyyy, ok what’s your happy hour, all to be told eh it ended at 7.

Of course. Cool, perfect. Great. Pause… Grrrrr. Eyeroll, fine? I guess?

Anyway after our happy hour heartbreak, we ordered a few cocktails and some sushi anyway, it turned out to be not so bad because the place is reasonably priced. We got one appetizer, 2 tall drinks each (We’re thirrrrsty) and 2 sushi rolls for $45 bucks regular priced.

So what did we eat? We both shared the veggie pot stickers which were deeeelicious. Dipped in Sriracha and extra jalapenos added of course, and then we each got the Veggie Roll, which was delicious as well. I’m not a sushi extraordinaire or anything but it seemed to be good sushi to me? Then again I did not order any raw fish so I couldn’t really rate that for you guys, sorry, let me know? I was watching the morning news today and saw that KUSI voted Boudoir as the #1place to be this 2011 NYE! I obviously knew this to be true already ;) , but kind of cool KUSI and FOX News feel the same way. Boudoir will be having a giant NYE party this Friday night, and the only way in is to purchase bottle service or tickets.

Tickets now are only $40.00, and considering we have one of the largest venues in San Diego, Boudoir should be one of the less hectic venues to go. There are of course other popular clubs you could go to, but their capacity is no where near ours, and who likes being stepped on all night? Not me. So with that being said… buy your tickets now and I will see you all at midnight!  I will be drinking PJ Rose somewhere, kissing stinky 2010 goodbye.

    For $40.00 tickets: Buy HERE!

I can’t tell you tooooo much yet, BUT, I am soooo excited to let you guys know about a brand new nightclub opening here in San Diego called Boudoir. For those who don’t know what Boudoir means, a boudoir is a lady’s private bedroom, sitting room or dressing room. The term derives from the French verb bouder, meaning “to pout”. To pout? Dressing rooms? Perfect, I’ll fit right in. I will be working here so I would love for you to come check it out!

Soft opening is next Thursday November 11th.

For Guest List or table reservations please email me! amanda@boudoirsd.com

A bit of background on Boudoir… Boudoir San Diego is owned by Mike Viscuso, who every San Diego socialite knows is the well-known nightlife mogul responsible for some of San Diego’s hottest nightclubs, including Downtown’s first club E Street Alley. Mike later went on to open On Broadway, Deco’s and Belo, as well as the popular Kress in Hollywood, and now has reinvented the space formerly known as Jade Theater into his own personal take on Downtown dining and entertainment with an upscale burlesque flair, to be named Boudoir. Mike also will be re-opening Jack’s in La Jolla in a few months, of course with a new name… Mike’s.

If you live in San Diego you probably have heard of the new restaurant Searsucker that opened recently Downtown, but in case you haven’t? Well here we go… Searsucker is located where the old Z Gallery was on 5th Ave. It’s been getting quite the buzz so we went there last night for the first time to check it out. Besides our waitress being slow as a snail, we had a pretty fun time. Champagne was involved so how can you really go wrong? On top of that being delicious, the food was really good too.

It is the perfect place to have a large dinner or birthday party, pretty big with lots of room, 8,000 square feet to be exact and not to mention a giant bar which makes waiting for a table no big deal. You probably won’t have to wait too long for a seat though, there’s seating for 60 around the large, rectangular bar, 140 in the restaurant and another 60 on the patio outside (plus 40-50 more in the upstairs private dining room).

For dinner I had the most delicious salad ever. I of course was difficult and ordered just lettuce, mozzarella and avocado, plain you say? No way so perfect mmm. Everything was so fresh and there was no shortage of giant chunks of yummy cheese and avocado. I also ordered a side of Asparagus which was grilled and topped with shredded parmesan cheese, again yummm and then ate a million pieces of their cheddar puffs. A flaky roll full of melted cheddar cheese, maybe the yummiest thing ever. Other people ordered the spicy shrimp and baked artichoke, both of which were also so tasty. We were going out after so I didn’t want to over do the meal but I ended up eating too much anyway.

    A bit more info:

Menu: New American classic cuisine which is divided into 7 sections: Bites, Smalls, Greens, Ocean, Ranch, Farm. Crab cakes, seafood, meats, salads, veggies, desserts, cocktails…

Ambiance: The decor is open, roomy, casual, modern. Cool lighting, lamps, couches, tables…

Get excited! Finallllly somewhere to hangout in La Jolla again! This Saturday August 14, 2010 a new venue called BarFly will open it’s doors to you all. What’s cool about this place, besides the fact that I will be working here ;) is that it’s a restaurant, lounge and club all in one so you can come here for any reason; date nights, lunches, dinners, cocktails by the fire pits, or for bottle service! It is open to eat until around 9pm and then transforms into a nightclub. For the grand opening we already have tons of confirmed celebs attending, red carpet and all. Definitely excited to have something else to do besides seeing the same old DT and rowdy PB crowds. La Jolla will be happy to have Barfly to liven the city back up!

Barfly is located where the old Hard Rock Cafe was on Prospect and has recently been transformed into a “scene of class, sophistication and sexiness that can only be found in the heart of La Jolla. As the sun goes down BarFly heats up with amazing sound and ambiance, plush seating for bottle service and a massive dance floor. Outside you will find a wonderful patio to enjoy the sea breeze blowing in from the Pacific while you relax next to one of the many beautiful fire pits. BarFly caters to a high-end clientele who will receive what they expect, the BEST. BARFLY LA JOLLA, A LUXURIOUS PLACE AND JUST PLAIN SEXY.”

The venue will be open Thursday, Friday & Saturday and have some of your favorite DJs… Sid Viscous, Samantha Ronson & Colleen Shannon, just to name a few.
