Soooo I never thought I would see the day I put my spray tanning machine away, but the time has come. I have had a crazy cough honestly since I’ve used the thing, and even though I’m not sure that caused it, I’ve decided to hold off on it for a bit. Anyway, the thought of no tan left me in a panic… I can’t be pale, so what’s a girl to do? My mom, being an avid Sunless Tanner, suggested Hawaiian Tropic Island Radiance Self Tanner so off to CVS I went to test it out. I was vvvvvvvery skeptical to try it out, I didn’t think anything could come match the custom spray tans I was used to, but let me tell you, this stuff DID! I love it!

Here are my PRO vs CONS:

    PROs:

    * Love the color. I bought the “MEDIUM DARK” which is almost as dark as my spray tan. Much darker than most Sunless Tanners I have used before.

    * The tan lasted much longer than my spray tan and faded much more gradually as well. No pale patches, fades lighter all over.

    * MUCH safer than Airbrush Tanning. The FDA only approved sunless tanners for TOPICAL use. Airbrush Tanning solution is NOT FDA approved to be inhaled. Inhalation of sunless tanning solution can cause numerous problems, many of which I personally have experienced as side effects of tanning.

    * Develops over night. I applied it to my pale legs thinking I would need a few coats but it tanned them enough after just one night!

    * Affordable. Only $13 bucks at any drug store.

    CONs:

    * The lotion is a bit sticky after applying, so I can only wear it before bed. The thought of putting jeans on after applying was painful. It took about 1 hour to fully dry.

    * Streaks are inevitable with lotion because it applies clear. Hard to see what areas are covered however nothing came out too streaky when I rubbed it in thoroughly.

    * The hands are tricky because you want tan hands, but have to wash off the bottoms after applying. To avoid this I pre-wet a towel with a bit of soap, applied the lotion all over my hands and then used the towel to only wipe off the bottoms of the hands.

    * A bit stinkier than the Airbrush Tan I am used to.

Overall, if I had to pick a method that applied easier and prettier, I would definitely choose an Airbrush Tanning machine, however with all my lung problems, I am forced to settle for a lotion for now. This Hawaiian Tropic Sunless Tanning Lotion didn’t finish too far behind so I can’t say I’m too disappointed. Happier lungs and tan skin? Win win :)

    Final Grade: B+

Think it’s insulting to call girls “make up faces”?

Calling me that doesn’t hurt my feelings. I’ll never understand why someone else cares what I put on my face. I look just fine without make up thank you very much, but I am girly and do enjoy playing with products and make up. Same way you bros like fixing up bikes and cars, I like playing with my face. End of story, now can we move on to some better insults? Thanks.

Oh and I have no idea why Sheila has a kiss on her boobs. Def not from my pink lips! Flooze.

I loved Kim’s hair and make up at the People’s Choice Awards last week, and now the make up artist who created the look is sharing with us how she completed this look! Here is a play by play tutorial on how to achieve it!

From Joyce, Kim’s make up artist:

“DON’T FORGET GIRLS!! It’s very important to keep up on your skincare regimen to keep its glamour & to help you have a clean smooth look. On Kim I apply PerfectSkin, LaMer lifting serum, & PerfectSkin eye cream. To condition lips I used Clarks Botanicals.

I used Foundation Primer by Laura Mercier. *On warm summer days try cooling your Foundation Primer in the refrigerator for refreshing the skin and reduce puffiness.

I like to keep Kim’s overall skin matte so I use Sheer Matte by NARS. Blend into the skin with a foundation brush for a flawless touch. Read More | Comments

I’m sure you’ve heard by now, but my girl Nicki Minaj launched her very own MAC lipstick last month called Pink 4 Friday. I know I’m a bit late posting about this, but it took me over a month to get it, yes it was that much in demand! Pink Friday lipstick is almost impossible to find/order, but leave it to me to be one of the lucky ones to get my paws on it from MAC. Thanks to sissy for this perfectly planned Christmas gift, it’s a bit bright, but I really love it!

The actual color of it on looks exactly like the color Nicki is wearing below.

The satin finish lipstick is rumoured to be a mix of her two favorite shades, Pink Nouveau and Girl About Town. This color is not for the lipstick shy, as it is pretty much a neon, bubble gum pink. I have a pink gloss over it so it is toned down a lot in this pic. That is the great thing about this color though, you really can wear it to the obnoxious level of your choice. Wear it alone as a neon, matte hot pink lipstick, or water it down like I did, by adding some clear or light gloss.

This is not a super accurate picture of it, as soon as I get all dolled up I will take a better picture with my camera and update this.

So where can you buy it you ask? Well, bad news… the lipstick was only available from Black Friday (November 26th) to the following four Fridays only, so your best bet is finding it for sale on a 3rd party website now. I did find it for sale on Amazon.com but it’s SEVENTY DOLLARS!!! I hope my sis didn’t pay that much, that’s outrageous! But if you are a Nicki Minaj fan it might be worth it for you ;) I’m sure you could find a Wet & Wild 99 cent lipstick in a similar shade tho ;)

I was reading an online magazine and came across a few of Kim Kardashian’s favorite beauty secrets and thought I’d share. Had some good tips in it. Enjoy!

    1. You’re known for having lashes so long and thick, they practically create a breeze when you blink! Are they real?
Yes my lashes are real! It runs in my family, my brother has the longest lashes. But I’m also a big fan of wearing fake lashes for shoots and big events. The key to making your own lashes look super long is to apply different mascaras and take your time. My favorites are Lancome Hypnose andMAC Zoom Lash.

    2. Do you have any fun getting ready beauty rituals?
I love getting ready, it’s so much fun! I always style my hair first then pin it back while I do my makeup. Before I apply my foundation I sprinkle Bare Escentuals shimmer powder on my face to get a pretty glow.

    3. What beauty tip changed your life?
Using make up wipes to take off my makeup. Best invention ever!

    4. What’s your all time favorite hair and makeup look?
I love when my hair is slicked back in a bun and my make up shows off the lashes. Pure glamour!

    5. What products are in your shower right now?
I use Finesse shampoo and Caress Evenly Gorgeous Exfoliating Body Wash, which has burnt brown sugar and karite butter—it smells so good you’ll want to eat it. ”

    6. What are your top 5 favorite beauty products?
    1. MAC Zoom Lash Mascara
    2. Caress Evenly Gorgeous Exfoliating Body Wash
    3. Givenchy Lady Pulp Lip Gloss in Lady Beige
    4. Benefit Lemon Aid (an eyelid primer)
    5. Givenchy Luminous Cheek Powder in Pink/Orange

I always wondered at what point I would realize I am getting old, and as exciting as this new concealer discovery may be, this was the moment I began to realize I am getting old. Why you ask? Well, because I’ve never used eye concealer before!!! :( Whatever… I can accept aging as long as there are products that support this slippery slope downhill hehee. So with that depressing note out of the way, everyone I’d like you to meet my new best friend, Smashbox High Definition Concealer. Some of you may have already discovered this so I apologize if this is old newszzz, but like I said, this is my first time buying a concealer!

This product absolutely works wonders on the under eye area, and also conceals any problem areas perfectly! I don’t have any major issues with my under eyes, so I am not sure how this would work for people with severe puffiness or bags but this product did lighten up my under eyes as well as smoothed it out a ton. I also dabbed a little over other areas that blemishes that needed it, and it worked just as awesome all over!

Pros: It’s a great consistency. Thick and covering but not mask like, and a little goes a loonnngggg way!

What it is: A liquid concealer that masks dark circles and imperfections.

What it does: Smashbox High Definition Concealer covers imperfections and dark circles with a weightless, good-for-your-skin liquid formula that leaves a natural finish and provides build-able coverage. Cell-energizing Ribose renews the appearance of skin, and soft focus pearls deflect light to minimize the appearance of blemishes and fine lines.

Colors: 6 colors ranging from Fair to Dark. I purchased MEDIUM.

    Smashbox High Definition Concealer $18.00

At first I saw these leopard print nails and wasn’t so sure what I thought about them, butttt after careful review, I’ve decided I like them. If done properly of course, the right length and colors… Leopard print nails would have been purrrrfect for my lame cat costume this Halloween, bummer. Anyway, here are a few cute leopard print nail styles with instructions on how to recreate them!

WARNING: I would only wear these nails with ALL black or something veryyyyy plain, white & denim etc… NO prints. Anything else would be too much.

This style is called the “Rainbow Snow Leopard”

To re create: Use Color Club brand in White for the base, then used OPI Black Onyx and Konad plate m57 for the leopard print. Then they used a dotting tool to draw the shapes, and added China Glaze High Hopes and Grape Pop, Color Club Power Play and Explosive for the dots inside some of the spots. It was then topped it all off with Seche Vite, which melds the whole mess together and makes it glossy as can be.

Here’s a video the girl did that will acquaint you with the Konad method of nail art.

The look above used Migi Nail Art Pens, they make doing leopard print really fast and easy.

To re-create: The first one used a base of Barielle Cowl of the Wild and then was dotted with OPI’s Who the Shrek Are You? The second one is a french tip of China Glaze Classic Camel, then dots with China Glaze Goin’ My Way (These are both from Vintage Vixens).  Read More | Comments
