I wasn’t too pleased to learn Ashlee Simpson went back to brunette a few months ago, eyeroll…. let the Ashlee Simpson look alike comments begin… But recently, Ashlee mixed things up and decided to rock two toned hair. At first I hatedddd it but after a few double takes, oooh, I kind of think I like it? It doesn’t fit my personality or style really, however I have an alter ego that loves the rocker chick look, so maybe I’ll bring this look to life and trick the world into thinking I’m Ash. Thoughts?

(… 1 hour later I re-looked at this post and now I think her hair is kinda ugly, maybe a bit too racoonish?)

I have always lovedddd bob hair cuts, and while peaking around at some Olsen twin pics (to take a Kim K. breather…) I came across the cutest pics of Mary Kate and Ashley’s blonde bobs. Such a cute Summer hair cut and it looks great curly, wavy and straight.

The mid-length bob has become a Hollywood favorite for many celebrities. To achieve this look, have your stylist cut your hair to the shoulders, angling the layers (with the shortest layers in back). Then, have her cut a bang that hits a little below the brow line. Finish off by applying a smoothing balm and using a flat iron to make the bob straight as a pin, or use a curling iron for the wavy/curly look!

Ahh why is Jessica Biel sooo cute?! She’s always been one of my favorite celebszzz, and after seeing her at this years MTV Awards I can confirm that yep, she’s still got it. Totally not the “normal” look I go for (Natural/girl next door, blah, gassspppp  ;)) However, I love love her look here. More so her hair and make up vs. her a bit off outfit but yeahhh, seeing Jessica’s perfect hair made me kinda want to make my mom happy and lighten my hair up for a more innocent look? Eh, yeah, probably not, sorry Mom. Anyway… Forget the color, what is great about Jessica’s hair here is how voluminous yet healthy it is! Why do my curls always look so nappy? Want the inside scoop on how to get your hair so flow-tastic?

Well, Jessica’s hairstylist Mark Townsend explains exactly how he did her hur… you’ll be surprised how easy and cheap, yea cheap it was done! Check it out…

“For the MTV Movie Awards I wanted Jessica’s hair to be cool, modern, and beautiful, just like her. We were very inspired by Brigitte Bardot with her loose, full hair and sexy vibe so we added a spritz of Dove Heat Defense Therapy Mist to protect her hair from heat styling, then we used bit of Dove Body & Lift  Volumizing Mousse to her damp hair. I absolutely love this mousse because it gives the hair body that I know will last all through the evening and I don’t have to worry about her hair falling flat before the awards show is over.

I then blow dried her hair with a large round brush to give the hair some lift and movement, When all her hair was dry, I sprayed a good amount of Dove Flexible Hold Hairspray with Natural Movement all over to give the hair hold, but still allow movement without becoming too stiff or sticky.”

Sounds simple enough and the best part is that everything can be purchased at your local supermarket!

I love Kim’s look here, so flirty and fun… it just screams Summer ;) What better way to adjust into the hotter months, than to pull your hair back and splash your wardrobe with some color!? Kim shows us the perfect way to Summer-ize your wardrobe with her fab up do and orangetastic dress.

Bored and want to try a new look? Pull your hair back and choose something exploding with color. Take advantage of bright fashions now while you still can! Winter will be here before you know it and back to black we’ll all go. Here are a few of my favorite Summery dresses, perfect for any event. From weddings to just a fun night on the town this look works for everyone :)

This dress would be perfect with tan or brown shoes and tons of gold accessories! You could also copy Kim’s take on it and pair it with an accessory that has both black and orange in it to make black shoes work perfectly with it. Love her simple hair and make up so if you want to skip out on accessories all together and grab a hot bag, that’s always an option too!

So long natural looking highlighted hair, helllllo bold, beautiful & BRIGHT hair! I see so many girls these days with boring, dull hair colors, and it’s time to change that. 2010 is the year of color, yes, that means ladies? Brighten up! Blondes go blonder… brunettes? Bolder, and red heads? Brighter! The trend here is to get as much color possible with whatever shade you’re working with.

Lets start off with what’s out. Boring, basic, super tiny, natural highlights… LC status.

LC’s hair is outdated and needs to be updated. If I were her, I would go brighter and blonder. Bolder , brighter highlights would be perfect on LC for the Summer. It would brighten up her entire face and would all over just be a more modern look ;)

Now onto the hair trends I do like. Bright & Bold = so much fun! Stick with whatever shade you currently have, just kick it up a notch. Brighten it up! 2010 is definitely the year of the color.

Yeah, it doesn’t really make sense but that’s ok ;) But hey, get excited girls there’s a new hairstyle in town just in time for all your fancy Springtime activities. Bored with basic ponytails? Over curling your hair? Perfect time to try out the braid. So many cute varieties of braids to try out, here are a few of my faves!

    1. Side braid. Hehehehee Jo Jo is gonna kill me, but she always sports the cutest braids I had to put her on braid blast ;) To achieve this simply wash, condition and prep hair with sculpting product to make it easier to manage and add some hold.

Blow-dry hair as usual, you can either blow-dry it straight or get a tousled wave into your hair – the braid will look hot paired with any hair texture.

Kim Kardashian laying poolside in Miami? How perfect does that sound rightttt now? Usually I prefer Winter over Summer, but I have a feeling this Summer is going to be super fun. Seeing these pics made me realize a lot goes into looking this cute while simply laying out, which then caused me to create a mental list of everything that went into her looking so fab. That then inspired this post ;) After all, who doesn’t want to learn how to look effortlessly cute poolside? Kim looks like she just threw on a bikini and decided to layout, however any glam girl knows that’s definitely not the case.

So… sure fire ways to be the cutest Beach Bunny this Summer?

    1. Her hair- someone shove some extra weave pieces in my head now, long flowy princess hair, I want it… no I need it! Extensions make everything look better. To me at least ;) Sure they might not be user friendly or like-able by anyone touching your head but so what, they look fab. I personally would go for clip in hair extensions that way you can take them in and out as needed. In San Diego?  Hair Unlimited is an extension store that will match your hair color and make the extensions for you, all for around $100.00. Best $100 you’ve ever spent!

I have posted about my talented, fab hairstyling pal Rachel before, but what I learned today is that her specialty is also men’s haircuts. While visiting her today I saw her cut a few guy’s hair and was impressed! Figured I would pass this little tip on to all my guy readers who are looking for a reliable, yet affordable trim or new hairstyle.

Rachel is super cute and easy to talk to, it’s nice to get your hair cut by someone who listens to what you want and who really wants you to leave happy. Men’s haircuts run only $30-$40 bucks depending on what you do, and she will make sure you leave with exactly what you want.

The salon itself is called Salon de Marcus, and is located Downtown, San Diego on 2nd Avenue. Super cute little boutique-y place that isn’t buzzing with a million people. Everyone is friendly, well trained, and overall just a great experience. I know men are finicky with hair cutting places, and it’s hard to find someone easy and good, so Rachel just might be your girl :) Summer is coming, time for a nice new clean cut ;)
