Wednesday Fun!? Sure Sidebar!
Sidebar, located Downtown San Diego, has been around for a hot minute or two, but with its recent remodel has definitely upgrade itself. I never was a huge fan of the place, but they did a few things right, hired hotter staff (Brookie & Saddaf to name a few
) and remodeled the entire inside. Last night I rolled out with Erin who works at Hard Rock here, we always have the BEST time. We really do cause so much trouble together but I like it.
Sidebar is known for being a blast on Wednesday nights, and to be honest, the only place worth getting dolled up for on a random week night here in SD. So if you are in town, looking for the best place to hit up on a Wednesday, check it out you will have a great time guaranteed.
My only complaint was it was FREEZING outside but roasting inside. I loveeee heat but it was a bit too hot so bring something warm for outside but removable inside! It felt like a Summer day in there so my long sleeves were a nightmare. Oh another bonus, how could I possibly forget… CIROS’ is attached to this place. Ciro’s for those of you who don’t know is the yumyumuyummiest pizza in San Diego. I am not sure who Erin’s friend was that took us there but he got us a whole pizza hahaha we were in fat girl heaven.
Oh and the Chargers were there too poppin bottles like there was no tomorrow, in case you needed another reason why Sidebar is so kewl
hey at least they were out on a Wednesday and not a Saturday right? Overall a fab night!

La Puerta Tequila Bar
So the Monday before my birthday a group of us went to La Puerta for my early birthday celebration! I love La Puerta, especially on Monday’s. Why Monday’s?
Because EVERYTHING is half off, well not everything but ALL drinks and appetizers
Best deal ever! I think our tab ended up being $40 bucks for our half of the table (Before we closed it out and started a bar tab of course) So if you ever need a fun after work happy hour La Puerta is the place to go, especially on Monday’s! I’ve written about it before also. Click to read all about La Puerta here!
We got yummy Quesadillas, potato rolled tacos, the best guacamole ever, margaritas and of course all the shots my friends bought me, Thanks to everyone who came, was a fab bday dinner, and thanks to Merritte for saving us a seat!
Do’s & Don’ts of the Hangover
I love reading men’s websites, it’s probably the same as when some men read girl magazines, or my site alskdjaskjdasd. Or maybe I am just a man. Who knows but I do. I usually don’t copy and paste articles but I liked this one so I am going to ;P
Think you know what is best for a hangover? Think again!!!
It’s the morning after a wild night out… you’re in excruciating pain. You feel sick to your stomach, your head hurts so much it hurts to even think about thinking, and you’re starting to regret those parts of the evening you can actually remember. Unfortunately, no magic pill can snap you out of your stupor, but there are a few things you can do to make the day a little easier on yourself. Here, we debunk commonly dispensed wisdom and show you the true hangover dos and don’ts.
Don’t – Take acetaminophen
More commonly known as Tylenol than by its generic name, acetaminophen can wreak havoc on your liver if ingested while intoxicated. The reason is that when your liver is busy metabolizing alcohol, it processes the painkiller differently than it otherwise would, resulting in toxic compounds that can cause liver inflammation and even permanent damage.
Do – Take ibuprofen
Set your alarm a little early and take an ibuprofen such as Advil in the morning one hour before you need to be a functional human being. Use this remedy in dire emergencies only, like when you’re meeting your new girlfriend’s parents for the first time at brunch and you have a splitting headache.
Don’t — Pound caffeine
Drinking shot after shot of espresso will not sober you up, nor will it get rid of your hangover. In fact, caffeine can work as a diuretic, potentially making you feel worse as a result of being further dehydrated.
Do – Have one gentle caffeinated beverage
While drinking excessive amounts of coffee or caffeinated energy drinks won’t do much to improve your sorry state, a single caffeinated beverage can help, particularly if you didn’t get enough sleep, by giving you an energy boost and improving mental alertness. Try black tea or one cup of good quality coffee and make sure you drink plenty of water throughout the day.
Don’t – Eat sausages and bacon
Though a greasy fry-up that includes sausages and bacon is often touted as the mother of all hangover cures, steer clear of this dietary disaster when you’re feeling worse for wear as a result of imbibing too much alcohol. While fatty foods will temporarily distract your stomach, you’re not really providing your body with the nutrients it craves after a heavy night out.
Do – Eat eggs
Swap your fry-up for hard-boiled or poached eggs. Eggs contain cysteine, a substance that can help break down acetaldehyde, a toxin associated with alcohol metabolism and hangovers.

Sorority Wine Tasting Reunion in Napa
So I am off to San Francisco for a sorority reunion… about 15 girls from AXO (Alpha Chi Omega) are meeting in San Francisco tonight and then tomorrow taking a limo around Napa to go wine tasting. I have never been, so I am excited! I even coordinated our outfits, everyone is going to wear some form of yellow, cute pics helloooo. Anyway, we are all at the airport and I hate it! People boarding planes are the worst. They walk so slow and take forever to load their bags in the overhead area. I know I am inpatient, but if you have been on a plane before, you should be a bit speedier by now. Who knows maybe it’s their first flight.
Whateverrrr so me Martine, Michelle, Karina and Gibson are all on board, we lucked out and took over 2 rows so we could all be close to one another
Our flight was delayed, so were just happy to be on the plane and taking off. Well the time comes where all electronics must be shut off. I am always the one sneaking my phone until the last possible second but this time I was a well behaved flier and shut it off. I decided however to snap a few pics of the girls on the plane but was rudely interrupted by my grey haired neighbor who was not too happy about me using this electronic device. “You knowww you’re not supppposed to be usinnggg electronic devicesss” Yeah thanks lady, I know. I said yeah thanks… aka I’m not listening to you. She goes THANKS. Thanks for what? Thanks for ignoring you? No problem ;P
Don’t let that smile fool you, she was mean!

I told her that her telling me that made me want to take 49 more pictures. And I of course did. Such a brat I know. Why do people always tell other people what to do?! I’m pretty sure a digital camera is not what they mean by a device. I mean I know it is one, but they’re more so worried about devices that are sending and requesting data. I am typing on the plane and had to reduce my font to size 8 just so she can’t see what I am typing ha ha…She is totally that old lady who yells at cars to slow down when they fly down her street. She also is the old lady at my apartments who yells at me for doing unsafe maneuvers. Really? An unsafe maneuver? Its an apartment parking lot and I am going 5mph. Either way I guess I am just a rebel and hate being told what to do. Enjoy the pic I took against the old lady’s will.
Woo hoo San Francisco here we come! We are going out downtown tonight and I can’t wait to see the city!
Ps- Having a website is like having a baby, I now travel with my laptop at all times. Speaking of babies there is one on this flight that won’t stop crying and I think it needs a time out in the lavatory
Strawberry Mojito’s Mmmmm
Nikki Beach in Cabo!
The strawberry mojito is a girl’s best friend and the perfect companion for ladies day or night. (Guys can of course drink it too, just don’t let anyone see)
Strawberry Mojito Recipe

- 1/4 bunch mint leaves
- 5 strawberries, quartered
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup white rum
- 1 cup club soda
- 4 cups ice cubes
DIRECTIONS
- Pour sugar onto a small, shallow plate. Run one of the lime quarters around the rim of each cocktail glass, then dip the glasses into the sugar to rim; set aside.(OPTIONAL)
