I loveeee Valentine’s Day, and what better way to celebrate your love (or in my case, the love for myself ) than to dress for the occasion! Yes it’s over a month away but who cares, that’s the perfect amount of time to start planning the perrrrrfect outfit. This post will be strictly Valentine’s shoe suggestions, because you really can plan an entire outfit around cute shoes. So this year instead of sporting red and pink via outfit, lets flip the switch and rock some cuteee Valentine inspired heel instead!

*Update: A few people have commented that red heels are ugly. I agree red heels can look cheap and ugly BUT if worn with the right outfit, and if you buy the right red shoe material, they are super cute!

Here are a few of my favorites from my favorite online boutique www.Lulus.com.

Jeffrey Campbell Two-Timer Red Brown Lace Up Wedge Booties $166.00

Miss Me Perch 12 Camel Side Show Platform Heel Booties $41.00

Anne Michelle Colada 06 Red Ruffle Rage Faux Suede Heel $33.00

Jeffrey Campbell Turino Pink Gold Zipper Suede Wedge Booties $227.00

Privileged Moss Red Side Bow Platform Heel Bootie $35.00

2010 has come and gone, wow how time flies! Yesterday I was thinking about how crazy fast life really zooms by us. I mean I am 27… I feel like it was just yesterday that I was riding ponies in my custom cowgirl outfit at my 5th birthday party, sippin diet cokes and eating nasty hot dogs at Charger’s games… where did the last 22 years go?

One day we’re gonna blink and wake up at 95 wondering where the hell our life went. It made me realize life really doesn’t slow down for anyone, and tomorrow isn’t promised. All we can do is surround ourselves with positive, loving, caring people and try to make the most out of every second we’re given, so when we do reach 95, we can look back at an amazing life surrounded by amazing people.

2010 was full of amazing highs and not so amazing lows, but it was definitely the year of goodbyes. I had a lot of people in my life that I had to let go of, I realize not everyone cares about the same things I do, which inevitably will end friendships. It was hard learning how to let go, but in the end it was for the best. I opened up new doors, new experiences, new relationships, new friendships, and definitely learned that there are people out there who are selfless and actually give as much as they take.

Reflecting on 2010, I realize I also need to work on being more positive when life hands me a bad situation, so I too can be positive more often. I read a quote that I loved the other day. “Every situation is a chance to choose your heart or your ego.” That will be my main 2011 goal, trying to choose my heart over my ego more.

So, this NYE I don’t want to make any crazy resolutions like saying I will no longer eat nachos at 2am, because we all know I could never stop that… but in 2011 I do want to focus on continuing to better myself (after all if I am a solid, good person, that is what I will attract) and also to only surround myself with the people and things that keep me smiling. Love, friendship, family, dreams etc… that’s what life is all about, to me anyway.

I am also going to stop expecting people to be what I want them to be, and instead only keep around the people who already are the kind of people I want to be around. No more fixing/changing/saving people. Anyway… I hope everyone had an amazing New Years and drank at least a bit of champagne to celebrate! Happy 2011!

I was watching the morning news today and saw that KUSI voted Boudoir as the #1place to be this 2011 NYE! I obviously knew this to be true already ;) , but kind of cool KUSI and FOX News feel the same way. Boudoir will be having a giant NYE party this Friday night, and the only way in is to purchase bottle service or tickets.

Tickets now are only $40.00, and considering we have one of the largest venues in San Diego, Boudoir should be one of the less hectic venues to go. There are of course other popular clubs you could go to, but their capacity is no where near ours, and who likes being stepped on all night? Not me. So with that being said… buy your tickets now and I will see you all at midnight!  I will be drinking PJ Rose somewhere, kissing stinky 2010 goodbye.

    For $40.00 tickets: Buy HERE!

    For bottle service prices: amanda@boudoirsd.com

Live Music by DJ DIK & DJ RAGS

Live performance by the super hot Boudoir Dancers!

I know it’s not exactly prom season quite yet, but when I was a Senior in high school, I was dress shopping months before so Senior girls get going! Actually, I had my dress custom made with the colors I wanted so I didn’t do much shopping, but the point here is that you have 5 months to find the perfect prom gown, so start looking now! The only reason I mention prom dresses is because the other day I discovered that Jessica Simpson is coming out with her own formal dress line in 2011! Pretty exciting news considering I love her shoe line.

The Jessica Simpson prom collection creates a new twist in prom dress shopping, out with the traditional long, plain and boring gowns, and in with the shorter, brighter, sassier dresses! I think this collection is super cute for Senior girls and gives them fun new styles to show off this prom. These dresses can also work for other occasions of course, after all formal dresses are needed for many places other than proms :)

2011 Prom trends to shop for:  Shorter, brighter, printed, ruffled

Short Strapless Beaded Taffeta Tiered Dress Style: JS1S2417

    $139.00

One Shoulder Glitter Chiffon Tiered Ball Gown Style JS1A2518

    $229.00

Wanted to post a few pics from my pre b-day celebration last night, we had so much fun! My actual birthday isn’t until Sunday but why wait to celebrate? We started the night off having dinner at Searsucker Downtown, and then headed off to Stingaree to meet up with some other friends. Thanks to all my friends who came out and made my night a blast, especially to Dan for my delicious, golden bubbly gift. Yum!

If you live in San Diego you probably have heard of the new restaurant Searsucker that opened recently Downtown, but in case you haven’t? Well here we go… Searsucker is located where the old Z Gallery was on 5th Ave. It’s been getting quite the buzz so we went there last night for the first time to check it out. Besides our waitress being slow as a snail, we had a pretty fun time. Champagne was involved so how can you really go wrong? On top of that being delicious, the food was really good too.

It is the perfect place to have a large dinner or birthday party, pretty big with lots of room, 8,000 square feet to be exact and not to mention a giant bar which makes waiting for a table no big deal. You probably won’t have to wait too long for a seat though, there’s seating for 60 around the large, rectangular bar, 140 in the restaurant and another 60 on the patio outside (plus 40-50 more in the upstairs private dining room).

For dinner I had the most delicious salad ever. I of course was difficult and ordered just lettuce, mozzarella and avocado, plain you say? No way so perfect mmm. Everything was so fresh and there was no shortage of giant chunks of yummy cheese and avocado. I also ordered a side of Asparagus which was grilled and topped with shredded parmesan cheese, again yummm and then ate a million pieces of their cheddar puffs. A flaky roll full of melted cheddar cheese, maybe the yummiest thing ever. Other people ordered the spicy shrimp and baked artichoke, both of which were also so tasty. We were going out after so I didn’t want to over do the meal but I ended up eating too much anyway.

    A bit more info:

Menu: New American classic cuisine which is divided into 7 sections: Bites, Smalls, Greens, Ocean, Ranch, Farm. Crab cakes, seafood, meats, salads, veggies, desserts, cocktails…

Ambiance: The decor is open, roomy, casual, modern. Cool lighting, lamps, couches, tables…
