My Top 6 Men’s Fashion Looks for Winter

As wild as it is to admit/say, my site is read by mostly men… I get a lottttt of emails from guys inquiring about my view on men’s fashions. I’ve gotten a few lately asking what trends I like the best for Winter as well as for “business casual” attire. I really think guys have it easy, as you can toss on a pair of nice fitted jeans and a button up and look fab, but for those of you who need a bit of extra help on basic men’s fashions I like at the moment, whether it be for work or just the changing seasons, here you go

1. Cardigan sweater with a button up or plain T shirt underneath, paired with dressy denim.

2. Casual blazer, plain cotton T, dressy denim. For blazer color stick to basics, nothing loud. Black, tan, navy, grey, cream, olive, brown… Dressier can keep it buttoned, I prefer it unbuttoned though.

3. Leather jackets. Love! Always have, always will. Such a great staple piece every guy should have.

Why Are Men Wearing Headbands?

So the other day I was eating at Firehouse in PB and in walks this bro with bleach blonde surfer hair, a droopy muscle tank, too tight short shorts (By the way are these in style again also?) and a turquoise woven Indian headband. Yes a headband, Pocahontas style. We all stared at this guy confused like, hmmm did he lose a bet? Is he serious? No… he has to be kidding, but nope, sure enough he sat down at the table with the rest of his bros, who keep in mind, said nothing about his headband, and ate a nice lunch. Is this some new trend men have taken a liking to? I mean I know some girls who wear the hippie headbands and it’s cute, but guys? No. Never.

Guys, leave the headband wearing to us girls…

Boat Shoes? Total DO This Spring & Summer for Guys & Girls!

You know me, I am pretty picky on what fashion trend trains I hop on or not, so you might be surprised to find out that I am hopping on the “boat shoe” train. There is something nerdy about these shoes that I kind of like? Don’t get me wrong, I’ve come across some pretty ugly boat shoes and I am not OK’ing them all, however, I did find a handful of them that would be pretty cute with a sundress, pair of jeans, shorts, heck they would be cute with anything.

The key to working this trend is to find a shoe that has “boat shoe” qualities but that’s not a full on leather grandma or grandpa shoe. Yes I said grandpa too, because I even found a few boat shoes for guys I like. Before you tell me they’re ugly just check em out! Hey if Kayne can create his own line of Louis Vuitton boat shoes, they gotta be kinda cool right? I think they’d be oh so cute on a guy in some plaid shorts

So when I was leaving the San Diego airport last week, a guy next to me in line had one of these Burton travel bags… I saw one guy behind him staring at the bag so bad like mannn I need that bag. Distressed Denim & Blazers- IN for Both Guys & Girls

Are you guys sick of my Kim Kardashian fashion posts yet? Because hmm I could do them forever I love blazers as you know, so I wanted to post another way to create a cute outfit with your favorite blazer. Kim Kardashian looks effortlessly cute here in deep colored blazers, a flowy tank and her favorite distressed jeans. This is such an easy look to re-create, perfect for a lunch date, or day time event. It’s a perfect balance of dressy and casual. The trick here is of course to always keep your hair and make up fresh and clean, to pump up the casual look just a tad.

I also like her simple accessories, the outfit is fun enough without overly accessorizing, instead go for some stud earrings, a small necklace and maybe some bracelets. Oh and cute heels of course Loving the nude heels.

Fabulous Men’s Haircuts in San Diego- CHEAP!

I have posted about my talented, fab hairstyling pal Rachel before, but what I learned today is that her specialty is also men’s haircuts. While visiting her today I saw her cut a few guy’s hair and was impressed! Figured I would pass this little tip on to all my guy readers who are looking for a reliable, yet affordable trim or new hairstyle.

Rachel is super cute and easy to talk to, it’s nice to get your hair cut by someone who listens to what you want and who really wants you to leave happy. Men’s haircuts run only $30-$40 bucks depending on what you do, and she will make sure you leave with exactly what you want.

The salon itself is called Salon de Marcus, and is located Downtown, San Diego on 2nd Avenue. Super cute little boutique-y place that isn’t buzzing with a million people. Everyone is friendly, well trained, and overall just a great experience. I know men are finicky with hair cutting places, and it’s hard to find someone easy and good, so Rachel just might be your girl Summer is coming, time for a nice new clean cut

3 Basic MUST Have Fashion Items For Men

To be honest, I think more of my readers are men than women, isn’t it funny how that works? Girly fashion blog attracting men? I think the reason for this is obvious, guys want to know what girls like. I am going to try to focus more on men’s articles as well, so stay tuned for more male fashion tips & suggestions!

First things first… for me I think male fashion is simple. If I was a guy, I would wear 3 things over and over…black, dark denim and sneakers almost everyday. It just looks the best, sorry if it’s boring. Its simple, modern, manly and clean. I think guys should look put together, but not overly trying.

3 Looks I LOVE on guys:

1. Black Shirts. A basic black tee goes a long way! From black V-necks to black button downs, I love men in black. I also love solid colors and basic prints. To prevent your black items from turning dingy and faded, remember to dry clean only.

2. Dark Dressy Denim- Every guy should own a few pairs of nice jeans. I still love dark denim and love the cut of these 7 for All Mankind Jeans. Baggy jeans are out, keep your jeans fitted and straight legged. Oh and skinny jeans on guys is barf too. Avoid.
