Perfecting Your Eyebrows

I have been checking out girl’s eyebrows lately and noticed so many girls have pretty messed up, over plucked eyebrows, crooked brows. Why? We’re not in 8th grade anymore, let your brows grow back and start fresh! It really is hard to get a good brow you’re happy with, I know, but the first step is growing yours. Let’s hit the reset button on your brows ne-ow!

About 4 months ago I had my eyebrows evaluated and threaded. (Yes evaluated askldsakjd) I thought mine were ok, but after having them threaded the technician suggested I grow mine out a bit more in the middle to give them a fuller more natural look. It was miserableeee growing them out, but soooo worth it. My brows are much better now

So, with that being said, I think every girl, and their tiny eyebrows, need to go through the ugly duckling phase and grow their eyebrows out. Once you do, go see Heidi downtown at Urban Calm Spa, or any other eyebrow perfectionist, and have them cre the shape. Nice eyebrows makes your entire face look cleaner and more put together. Bye bye crooked, too thin, drawn on brows, hello Beyonce brows!

Tips for eyebrows:

* Never pluck too far in. Prevent a unibrow, but leave the natural shape of your eyebrow near the middle. Two fingers worth of space is more than enough for space between your brows.

* Don’t over pluck the top. A few here and there is ok, but again leave your natural shape unless you have nugget brows, that’s a different story.

* Do NOT draw in your eyebrows TOO much. I see so many crayon eyebrows, so awful! Excessive eyebrow pencilers should be fined. Use a shadow and brush for more natural looking brows.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation- BEST Ever!

Girls, meet your new best friend… Estee Lauder! Out with MAC foundation, and in with grandma’s favorite Estee Lauder’s Double Wear fountation. I know, I know, you’re skeptical but it’s true! Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation is wayyyy, wayyyy, WAY better than MAC’s foundation. My friend Lindsay told me about this secret switch and after trying it out, I really love it 239,231,454 times better! It wears so much better than MAC, with little to no touch ups needed the entire day. I don’t know about you, but with MAC I had to touch up through out the day and by 4pm always looked like my face was melting off. Not a good look. Anyway, it is about $32 bucks and I got mine at Nordstrom. You can get it at any Estee Lauder counter, or online here.

Wednesday Fun!? Sure Sidebar!

Sidebar, located Downtown San Diego, has been around for a hot minute or two, but with its recent remodel has definitely upgrade itself. I never was a huge fan of the place, but they did a few things right, hired hotter staff (Brookie & Saddaf to name a few ) and remodeled the entire inside. Last night I rolled out with Erin who works at Hard Rock here, we always have the BEST time. We really do cause so much trouble together but I like it.

Sidebar is known for being a blast on Wednesday nights, and to be honest, the only place worth getting dolled up for on a random week night here in SD. So if you are in town, looking for the best place to hit up on a Wednesday, check it out you will have a great time guaranteed.

My only complaint was it was FREEZING outside but roasting inside. I loveeee heat but it was a bit too hot so bring something warm for outside but removable inside! It felt like a Summer day in there so my long sleeves were a nightmare. Oh another bonus, how could I possibly forget… CIROS’ is attached to this place. Ciro’s for those of you who don’t know is the yumyumuyummiest pizza in San Diego. I am not sure who Erin’s friend was that took us there but he got us a whole pizza hahaha we were in fat girl heaven.

Oh and the Chargers were there too poppin bottles like there was no tomorrow, in case you needed another reason why Sidebar is so kewl hey at least they were out on a Wednesday and not a Saturday right? Overall a fab night!

Builder’s Entirely Natural Protein Bar, Yum!

It is hard to find protein bars worth chewing AND swallowing these days, but I found one today I love! I got it at Jamba Juice but it is made by Clif Bar so I am sure they carry these in health/grocery stores all over. The bar is called Builder’s Entirely Natural Protein bar. It tastes like a delicious brownie and even has 20 grams of protein in it! Builder’s bars are made with organic ingredients, and free of antibiotics, hormones and genetic modifications. PLUS, Clif Builder’s don’t contain trans fats or partially hydrogenated oils and are considered a low-glycemic food. As a bonus, they come in 6 yummy flavors. I had chocolate and it was great.

For Holiday Curls, Use Hot Tools 1.5 Inch Iron!

I love curly hair, especially for the holidays! To get curls that bounce and last for days can be tricky but with my help you’ll get it right in no time. The look I will be explaining is a fatter curl with lots of volume! I saw my friend Brittany’s hair so curly and cute in her recent pics, that I had to ask her what curling iron she was using. Here is Brit and her fabulous curls.

Here are some basic steps to achieve this look. The links are products I suggest, click for more info.

1. Wash hair with a volumizing shampoo if you can
2. Add Big Sexy Hair Root Boost to your hair
3. Blow Dry upside down and with a fat 3 inch round brush
4. Add a serum to smooth out frizzy hair
5. To get an overall curled look, you have to section off your hair. Plan on having about 6 sections that run horizontally across your head.
6. Start at the very bottom. Grab a 1.5 inch section of hair and begin to curl with a 1.5 inch Hot Tools Curling Iron. REMEMBER to curl AWAY from your face depending on which side you’re working on. Curls should always go away from your face, never towards. If you are curling the right side of your head, curl clockwise, left side, curl counter clockwise.

*TIP you should hold the iron on the hair for at LEAST 30 seconds. That is where many go wrong.

7. Lightly spritz with hairspray as you go, but like I said, LIGHTLY!
8. Once you are all done sectioning off and curling, take more serum and run your fingers through the curls gently to break up super curled curls.
9. Once you’re done curling, give it a good tease and a final spray!

Best Sunless Tanner- Million Dollar Tan!

Hey guys & girls, I have a cool new product to tell you about, my best friend Lindsay has a sunless tanning company in Newport Beach, CA called Million Dollar Tan and she just came out with an awesome sunless tan lotion called Cabana Tan.
