What to Wear To: A Wedding Rehearsal Dinner
Email:
“Dear Amanda,
I’m a bridesmaid in three weddings this summer and I was hoping to get your advice on what to wear to a rehearsal dinner?Family members of the bride and groom along with the wedding party will be attending. Each one will take place in a relatively nice restaurant (probably not anything TOO fancy, but it’s safe to assume it won’t be at TGI Friday’s). I need to look put together, and obviously can’t wear anything white. Help?!”
HA Response:
For me this seems simple! A dress, obviously, is my favorite option if the environment allows it but if it’s not that fancy, a nice blouse and dressy pair of bottoms would work as well. Any chance to dress up is a plus for me, so take this chance to get girly without drawing too much attention to yourself. You want to look pretty and put together but also are not there to steal the show.
Rules of this Environment:
* Never show cleavage at events like this, you’re looking to be presentable and respectful, so leave the low cut tops at home. Cleavage should be left for dates and clubs, if even that. (Not a cleavage fan)
* Nothing too short or too tight, and make sure to dress weather/AM/PM appropriate.
* Keep hair and make up pretty & polished, but not diva prom status.
Ok now for outfit ideas:
Heaven’s Whisper One Shoulder
Blush Pink Dress $37.00
I would stick to pretty fabrics. Flowy, sheer, ruffles, florals…
Bonita Barcelona Halter Teal Dress $36.00
Don’t be afraid to sport a bright color! This dress cut is perfect. Shows skin but respectfully.
High enough neckline and length.
Bebe Silk One Shoulder Blouse $79.00
Blouses are a great option paired with some black skinny dress pants or a black skirt. Avoid denim.
BB Dakota Howe Black Mini Skirt $61.00
A high waisted black skirt is always a safe, reliable option.
Choose a pretty blouse to tuck into it you’re good to go.
Overall I think the choice is ultimately up to you dress, skirt, pants… Don’t forget to factor in whether or not it will be day or night, inside or outside. If it is an indoor nighttime dinner, you obviously can get a bit dressier, versus an outdoor, early evening dinner you can be a bit more casual etc… Hope this helps!?

I’m thinking you need to add to your “What to Wear…” on a first date
Day vs night kisses. xx
