This weeks W2W2 question involves a little Law School graduation fashion. What a fabulous question to ask considering I used to work for an Attorney, and sexy business casual is one of my favorite styles to shop for. These looks can of course also work for office holiday parties or events where you need a perfect blend of smart, sexy and sweet ♥
Email: “I love your style and thought you might be able to help! I need some serious help picking out what to wear for my law school graduation. I am having a huge party afterwards, and want something that is graduation AND party appropriate. I love all things pink and girly and am not afraid to try new things, but being a student, I don’t have a huge budget. It is my night though, so I want something that steals the show.”
Perfect. Ok, so when I think of Law School graduations, I definitely picture a fitted, high waisted skirt or dress. A skirt or dress is a must because it says yeah I’m smart, but hey… don’t forget I’m still a fashionable girly girl as well. Plus you’re graduating and outta there so now’s your time to show everyone you can be sexy and smart. It’s kind of up to you how much you care to fit the environment. I personally would pick an outfit moderately conservative and then put more effort into flawless hair and make up.
Ok so, here are some looks I love. Pencil skirts, blouses, fitted dresses… I love Kim’s entire look here. The dress is perfect, white and festive for your holiday/grad party, but professional enough for the graduation. The thick suiting material keeps it from being too form fitting or clingy. The key here is getting nice materials. Suiting fabric is perfect since you want something that’s professional but still fitted and fun. Suiting is fitted but not too clingy.
I also love Khloe and Kim’s outfits here. You could always buy two tops if you wanted something a bit more fun for the party, or simply do a top like Khloe’s that can be worn to both. Kim’s top is a bit stuffy for a holiday party but hey I’d still wear it.
Here are a few pieces to create these looks. You can find these almost anywhere for any budget.
Skirts
Bebe Ribbed Pencil Skirt- $79.00
Bebe Gretchen High Waist Skirt- $89.00
Tops:
Bebe Dainty Silk Top- $79.00
This top would be super chic and fab tucked into a high waisted satin black skirt with some tights.
Bebe Mesh Mock Turtleneck- $49.00
Again, super cute tucked into a high waisted skirt.
Dresses
I think the major rules for dresses here, are NO cleavage, NO short hoochie dresses. Other than that any fitted but covering, above the knee dress would be super cute. And shoot a little glitter won’t hurt anyone either
Bebe Asymmetric Foil Print Dress- $119.00
I think this dress is cute and Holiday-y. I would pair with tights for sure. Plain black sheer and maybe some rhinestone stud earrings.
Bebe Polished Ponte Dress- $129.00
Bebe Jacquard Bodycon Halter Dress- $109.00
Love this dress but ONLY with the chunky necklace and bracelet added. The dress itself would be too neutral/boring without a fun, bulky accessory!
Must Have Accessories:
Stud Earrings- Nothing is overkill than a huge pair of chandelier earrings at a graduation. Keep it simple with a designer stud earring or basic rhinestone!
Back Seam Pattern Pantyhose- I’ve recently become obsessed with the tights with a solid black line down the back. I think they are so cute to mix in with office sexy casual for special events. They add a little mysterious flare to the outfit, and definitely stand out but in a subtle way.
Hair & Make Up:
I would keep both pretty and polished but not over the top. Medium curls/medium smokey eye, nude/light lip, stud earrings, unless the necklace is making the outfit like the tan dress above. I also loveee sleek buns and ponytails if you can pull them off! Here are a few hair and make up styles I love for this event.
Love this entire look! This is the perfect amount of curl for this occasion. Flirty and fun.
Ignore the green shadow, I like her hair and earring combo here.

A messy up do would be a sophisticated yet stylish.
A perfect amount of make up. Smokey eye, but not over the top.
Hope these ideas help! Congrats on graduation!
