So last night I got a few emails from girls wondering how the affordable shoes I post about hold up when put to the test? That’s right, do I pay the price for buying inexpensive heels? So far I have had minimal problems with the shoes I have purchased from Cutesygirl.com and have been happy with their products. Are they Louboutins? NO. Are they cute? Comfy enough? And still in one piece after a few wears? YES.

I think I go into the purchase expecting them to be what they are, a cheap shoe. Considering how low some of these prices are, you do have to expect to get what you pay for, however so far I have been pleasantly surprised. I have worn my Cutesygirl.com heels several times and like I said, they are comfy, cute and still holding up!

Another tip when buying cheap shoes is to pay attention to the material. A lot of the plastic-y materials are gross to me and are what makes the shoe look cheap. Imitation leather? I won’t buy it. The only cheap shoe I will buy is suede or a thick leather, anything that still looks nice. It is a bit tricky weeding through these online sites, but I have, and I found tons of cute stuff!

Here are two examples of buying cheap shoes successfully…

The wrong way…

* Cheap material, looks like fake plastic, and you can see the not so perfect stitching…

And now for the right way…

* You can’t tell if these are Bebe or from Cutesygirl.com. The material is suede so it’s easy to fake.

So next time you are in the cheap shoe market, remember these tips!

* NO imitation leather!

and

* You get what you pay for, don’t expect them to last forever, they will be good for a few weeks of wear and tear and that’s probably it. I try to buy a balance of the nice shoes I can rely on, and cheaper ones to keep a variety of looks fresh in my closet.

Happy Shoe Shopping :) Don’t forget to check out cutesygirl.com for 50% off their already cheap shoes!

    Great post, those are some useful tips! I didn’t think about how suede could actually look OK… but plastic leather, noooo. :-p One good thing about cheap shoes – it’s OK to keep on shopping for new shoes since they have a short timespan any way
