This is by far the craziest thing that has EVER happened to me, and looking back I am a total fool for not seeing all the clues. This is a lesson to everyone, seriously… trust no one online, nooooo one.
As you know I have this site, about 5 months ago right when I started this, a really nice girl named “Kail Kade” emailed me telling me she was a personal trainer and fitness model out of NYC but LOVED my site. I was so flattered, she was so cute and so nice. Over the next 5 months, we would talk on facebook, email, text, aim… and actually established a full on friendship. She would talk about her boyfriend “Phil”, living in NYC, waking up at 4am to hit the gym, wanting to move to Cali, she told me she landed a HUGE modeling contract for a well known large company out here, and that her and her fiance were moving to a high rise condo Downtown, etc etc etc. Honestly it was 5 months of non stop communication. We’d talk about fitness, diets, dating, friends, fashion, cooking, Halloween, she was in Vegas around the time of my birthday so I told her to meet up, she told me she just got engaged that night out there and that Phil flew out to surprise her. Just non stop crazy deep stories. Her grandma just died and I was really sad for her, she had this huge elaborate story on how her grandma was now dancing with the angles in heaven. This girl even sent me a picture of her dying grandma! As well as baby and teenage pics of herself! Stalker much?
Anyway, I showed her picture to another friend who is super into fitness and he asked me if her name was Amber Elizabeth? I said noooo, her name is Kail. I promptly googled that name to see who that was. Amber Elizabeth is a huge, well known fitness model and Kail Kade does NOT exist. Not one google search with her name. Pretty wild considering she would show me the fitness ads she was in. You’d think her name would be somewhere, anywhere! No where. I contacted Amber’s agent asking if he had heard of a Kail Kade, because Kail would mention his name all the time to me, and nope sure enough, he had no clue who she was.
*UPDATE: I am a total psycho and harassed the girl so much that she finally told me who she was. She is literally an 18 year old freshman at North Carolina state who does this in her dorm bored. She admitted she’s been doing this for 5 years as a result of her parents divorce. She said all she would do is hide in her room after her dad left them. She admitted she’s sick and even said she gets treatment for these 2nd life addictions. I also got her to go on Skype video chat to confirm all of this. I had to know for my own sanity and security who I had been talking to. Pretty sad story, I have forgiven her and moved on. I hope the rest of the 55 people she lied to are as forgiving, however I doubt they will be.
She admitted she had tons and tons of fake profiles of Kail’s friends and family. And admitted pretending to be multiple people before Kail. Nuts.
Here is just one of the hundreds of pictures Kail sent me.
The wildest part is her facebook is totally legit, people commenting they hung out with her, people asking how she’s doing, girls saying they were so happy to meet her, she is such an inspiration in the fitness world, her brothers fb, her sisters, her boyfriends, they’re all fake profiles. When I confronted “Kail” about who Amber Elizabeth is, she deleted me off facebook instantly. My heart sunk, as lame as that sound I couldn’t believe what had just happened. I felt totally violated and tricked. I feel like I lost a friend. I really liked this girl. We had so much in common and would talk for hours. She would send me workouts, was always helping me eat better, always offering tips, it’s nuts! We would genuinely give each other advice, and to know I have no idea who the hell I was talking to for 5 months is disgusting. It for sure is a female, there is no way it is a guy, we had too much in common and the conversations flew too easily.
What would motivate someone to do all this? This person truly lives their life as Amber Elizabeth. Every story “Kail” told me, is something that Amber lived. I spent an entire day online reading about Amber. From where she grew up in Africa, to her grandma dying, to the events she was working, her being a construction worker for Halloween, pics included, all the same exact things Kail claimed as her life.
I paid a small price for a HUGE lesson. I don’t know what this person wanted from me, but you can’t trust people online. Even if someones profile seems legit, this is proof it might not be. Google the person you’re talking to. Google their phone number. Kail’s was in North Carolina which doesn’t fit her story. She’d have lied about why it was there anyway, but pay attention to details. I should have done that sooner but I was too trusting. Even mobile uploads can be faked. All it takes is her being friends with Amber to steal those pics and mobile upload these pictures herself.
This girl had tons of accounts, tons of emails, tons of ways to fake this life. It is sad and sick to know people like this exist but again I am telling you about this to avoid something like this from happening again. Don’t share info with people online. From now on I am only talking to people I know, it is just much safer that way.
After this happened to me, I shared my story with my friends and to my surprise more than a few people had similar stories. Guys dating girls online that didn’t exist, my friend had her identity stolen, some poor guy thought he was dating her for months and he even called her MOM somehow to ask where she had been. My friend had never even talked to the guy.
This whole situation was devestating to know people can be so ugly and evil, but I am glad it was discovered so I can forget about it and move forward. Please everyone be careful!

WOW. That’s just plain crazy! I can see how easy it would be to fall for that OR be on the other side and be the one doing the faking. I’m so sorry that happened to you. But like you said, never trust anyone and lesson learned!

WOW!
Some people are downright unreal and attempt to invade the lives of the successful, accomplished, and legit people in many ways. I cannot count the instant messages, emails, contacts, etc that have been so outlandish and so far into way left field that is sincerely made me question the sanity of the individual(s). People whom use Facebook for “networking” are setting themselves up for a big big disappointment as those whom are legit have a mega-sized shield and fence put up to minimize any/all risks and vulnerabilities since the world we live in is filled with filth, deception, and people who will stop at nothing to get into the lives of the successful. I guess this is pretty much typical of the deranged society that many reside in present day.
Be careful and chalk it up as a learning experience.

That is insane. I’ve had some strange conversations on the internet with some crazy people, but I’ve never even heard of anything this bizarre. What I don’t understand is how there could be people on her facebook saying how great it was to meet her??? That’s really rough, I can’t imagine building a friendship with someone for so long only to find out that they don’t even exist.

she made fake profiles, tons of them. i actually talked to her entirely last night. she even went on skype to prove she was really 18. the entire thing is sick and she knows it. admitted to battling this problem for 5 years after her parents divorce. wild

Interesting. I just googled Kail Kade’s name as well to see if there was any new information up about her, and i came across this. Last year about this time, I was in Iraq with the Marine corps, and some she had found me on facebook. We spoke for months while deployed, and I appreciated the conversation. She told me about her modeling gig in LA as well, and that she was soon to be moving from NY to southern California. I was obviously stoked, and invited her to accompany me to the last Marine Corps Ball I would be attending. Everything was all set up, I had purchased her ticket and had one hell of an evening planned for us. She kind of just fell off the grid after that. Said she’d recently gotten a boyfriend, and wouldn’t be able to make it. I gave her reservation away to one of my friends who needed an extra, and went to my last Marine Corps Ball stag.
Thanks for your diligence in finding all this out. what a crazy world we live in. I had wondered what happened with Kail.

Comment by Avery Andarton is a fake — June 18, 2010 @ 5:50 pm
Add Avery Andarton to the list of fake names for this impostor. Just carried on a text and chat (and one brief phone call) for 4 days with someone posing as AE, or whatever her name is. Story is the same as the one written above. Almost exactly, except she said she recently moved to my city. This sicko is terribly good at posing as someone else. Thanks for posting your story.
