I hope this year you can prove to everyone else around that you ARE the best team in the NFL. I hope this is the year you want it sooo bad that you sacrifice everything to achieve it! Everyone knows we have such a great roster, yet each year we fall short of everyone’s expectations. Why? I personally think it has to do with the lack of total and complete commitment on behalf of many of the starting players. I like seeing the guys out having fun, but last year I saw them out partying a little too much. It seemed like every Sunday night they were poppin bottles somewhere. Sure the team is entitled to have fun, but honestly I know how I feel after a night of drinking, there is no way come Monday morning, they can have as effective of a practice as they could if they did without the bottle poppin the night before.
I know we only lost one game so far but that is already worse than we were doing last year, I don’t want losing to become a routine or habit. They easily could have won that game yesterday. I don’t think I am being too hard on them considering I have seen what they are capable of.
I just don’t see how it is fair, they get paid millions and to not have total commitment to their fans and to the sport seems kinda selfish, after all this is the profession they chose. I really am not trying to be judgemental, I just know that we have such a strong team maybe if we did less of the wild party nights with Tila Tequila, Stingaree and Barwest, this could absolutely be the year we’re unstoppable! Just a thought fellas
Miami home game next week, let’s get back on track!
What do you guys think about NFL Players drinking & partying? Do you think it is ok?

I think we should just ban Chargers players from drinking or partying, until we actually win a superbowl… that would be good incentive right….?

I definitely see some post-hangover movement during games. I am sure they could put the alcohol-ban in their future contracts. No way they could enforce it though. But some improvement is needed, I’ll give you that.

I stopped by stingaree for a friends birthday on friday night and who did i see? Shawn Merriman and Antonio Gates drinking and partying. I know personally because a few people I knew bought them shots. Both players did not show up on sunday, gates got me 4 fantasy points and im livid because i lost this week and merriman didn’t show up either. We banned them from the Ivy because they don’t know how to act and start fights with security guard. They should be fined by the chargers for being ignorant and not disciplined, or be treated like college players and have a curfew.
Win some games first guys before you go out and celebrate!

I think the only night that they should get to party on is Sunday. I think Mondays are days off for them…

Great post Amanda, I think it is sad that someone outside the organization has to call these “men” out. I am not surprised, because to quote one of my favorite movies, “Attitude reflects leadership, Cap’n.” So, where is the leadership? Imagine if we had a leader like Breeze still in this so called talent filled locker room, people would be talking about the Chargers Dynasty, not new englands.
