Fancy Date Locations in SD

People keep emailing me asking about places to take people on dates Downtown. Here are a few suggestions, in no particular order:

1. The W Hotel- I love the W and the one in San Diego is always a good time. Never too crowded and isn’t too pricey. They have a restaurant inside the hotel also, called Rice that is super yummy!

What makes this spot cool? I love the rooftop bar with an actual sand floor, also has awesome views of the city!

2. Red Pearl Kitchen- I went here a few years ago for my birthday and had a blast. They have huge rooms you can rent out for large events or of course tables for 2 for a date. The entire menu and ambiance is Asian inspired, think Tao NYC… Buddhas and red lighting everywhere!

What makes it cool? It has creative yummy cocktails, and the food is soooo good. The environment is super unique, definitely have to go once in your life. Kind of a secret place not many talk about but all love once they go!

3. Suite & Tender- This is a restaurant inside a new hotel downtown called SE Hotel. I wrote a review on this place before… I liked it for a date but not for an all girls birthday dinner like we were there for. The service was a bit slow, but if you are on a date that is ok. The food was good not amazing but the hotel is pretty cool.

What makes it cool? The hotel is brand new, super fancy and upscale, you can get dressy and not look weird. They have a fun lounge downstairs that has a good vibe. Very NYCish also. They have a good selection of cocktails and a cool infinity-edged pool if you are looking for day time fun. They also offer poolside cabanas with bottle service. Cool venue for a date.

4. Bondi- This is an Australian inspired bar/restaurant. The main reason I like this place is because they have super cool giant bird cage tables you can sit in. I love places with funky unique settings. The drinks are good and the people are friendly. They have good music, Old school, Rock, Hip Hop you name it! I haven’t eaten here so I can’t rate the food, but if you’re looking for a fun place to dance and hang out this is it!
