To me loyalty is everything because with loyalty comes soooo much more. Honesty, trust, faith, friendship, consistency, love etc. If I try to be one thing to my friends it’s loyal. I want them to be able to count on me for anything and everything. If I tell someone I will be somewhere, I am there.

So many people are so flaky and so unreliable and I don’t get it. They rather ignore their own friends out of pure laziness. I remember I had a friend get in a fight with a boyfriend one night, she said she called 4 friends and I was the only one who answered. Sure it’s annoying to deal with when I am sleeping, but it’s more important to me to be there for her than to sleep.

Why don’t more people take pride in being a good friend?  I now realize I can’t expect this from everyone, loyalty isn’t something everyone takes pride in giving. I never want to be the person who only gives to people who give to me, but eventually after giving so much and always being let down you kinda get over being so loyal and forgiving of the constant disappointments.

Moral of the story is, try being more of a loyal person. If you make plans, keep them. If someone calls you, call them back, EVEN if it means you are not interested in what they are calling about. Nothing is ruder than just ignoring someone. I reply to people I am not interested in all the time. You don’t have to be interested but be polite and honest. If you have a choice between a friend and a guy, don’t always pick the guy. Make time for the people who make time for you. Be true to your friends, keep your word, and mean what you say :)

Maybe this is why I love dogs more than people, they are so reliable, full of love, grateful and loyal. Difficult standards for most people to live up to. Luckily I have a handful of awesome, loyal friends.

you continue to impress me with a lot of the things you write in this blog. lots of times we have perceptions of people, whether good or bad, and sometimes, i can admit, they are less than accurate…

and i think one of the reasons that i keep reading and keep commenting here even though we arent really friends or anything, is because i appreciate the effort you put into this thing. not just for the entertainment value of seeing what kind of crazy things you are doing with your friends, but more so for posts like these that give a glimpse into who you are as a person.

guess i just wanted to tell you you’re doing a good job.

Thanks daniel! yeah ive read some good articles online that have stopped and made me think and have actually made me want to change things about myself, so hey if my two cents triggers one person to be better at one aspect of their life then why not. i like writing and as long as a few people, (you and sean) like reading haha then that’s all that matters. hello amanda is supposed to be kind of an explosion of my personality, weekends, thoughts, pics, projects, etc so i guess its meeting its purpose! thanks for being a good HA supporter hahaha
